Kris turned around and looked at Vlad with an annoyed look on their face.

* Can you shut it, Vlad?
* You're the only one flying here while me and Varik are walking and not complaining.

* Ehh. Not my fault you guys are born this way.

Vlad put his tongue out cheekily as Kris facepalmed angrily while Varik tried to calm down Kris.

As they continued to travel the Catacombs, they reached to a very suspicious hallway with unlit torches on the walls. Unnerving, they proceeded to continue onward. That's when the torches lit up when they walk past it. Varik thought that this wasn't good. At the end of the hallway, there is a statue that is blocking a big door. The statue had similar carving designs to Toriel's, only difference were a crown and a staff being hold by the statue. The divine carving also had light shining upon it due to the broken ceiling; it seemed that this totem fell but was able to survive the fall despite it looking slightly cracked. Vlad was excited that the walk is over and proceeded to fly head first to the statue to touch it. Varik sweated as he tried to stop Vlad.

* Oooo, a statue!
* Never seen this befo-...

As the vampire's fingers imprint the stone, the statue's lifeless eyes lit up an orange red. Vlad immediately hid from Varik and Kris as the duo brandished their swords.

	Many Toriel Guardians have been made in order to protect valuable and significant items within the Catacombs. These were made by previous inhabitants of the Ruins and the Catacombs, originally to protect the Catacombs as a whole since it was being built as a safekeeping of artifacts and secrets. These meticulous statues have the ability to withstand strong elemental attacks while also being capable of imbuing strong fire magic. It's strength is as identical to Toriel's but is capable of doing more than what's prescribed. These statues are seen throughout the backgrounds of the Catacombs; from pillars, to walls. Varik has happened to come across one guarding a door. It seemed illogical to have one in front of a door but it is assumed that this fell from the ceiling hence the  gleaming light above it, making the divine seemingly divine. After being trampled with by the ghastly vampire, its eyes shown hostility towards the group which lead them to battle the statue.

Hello, everyone. I haven't abandoned this project as you may have thought. A lot of unfortunate events have happened in regards to my schedule, I couldn't keep up once again. I can't keep using this as an excuse for long, I know that. But I'm trying my best to give out content with very little time and scheduling I have left. Anywho, this is [technically] the "Heartache" replacement of the AU. The track can be heard to some enemies and bosses.

a lot has happened in my life over the years. i've picked up and put down this project so many times, either out of doubt for my own skills or simply getting caught up in other stuff
i know i always wanted to complete this, but as it got closer and closer to the end, i never wanted to stop

eventually, you just need to put that last nail in the coffin.

thank you all so much for listening to my tracks, ideas, and evolution as an artist. i can't confirm if i'll do another au page like this but i'd sure like to explore other avenues to tell stories
