MK: Let's scramble, Maddie!

Chapter 1: 007 - Let's Get Outta Here!

LONG AGO, A LEGEND WAS WHISPERED AMONGST SHADOWS.
A LEGEND OF FAILURE. A LEGEND OF SUCCESS. 
A LEGEND WORTH STORIES. A LEGEND ENCOMPASSING SHIFTS. 
THIS IS THE STORY OF
DELTA RUNE. 

A POWERFUL ANGEL, ON A QUEST TO CONQUER ALL REALMS,
DISCARDS THE UNIVERSE FROM WHICH IT CAME.
IT TARGETS THE REALM IN WHICH WE NOW LIVE AND BREATHE
AND WILL MOVE TO THE NEXT. 

ON THE DAY IT MAKES IT'S ATTEMPT, THREE HEROES WILL APPEAR AT SHADOW'S EDGE. 
A POLTERGEIST
A MONSTER
AND A FORSWORN RANGER. 

ONLY THEY CAN SHATTER THE BARRIERS CREATED BY THE WANDERER
AND BANISH THE FIRST FLAME. 

FOR NOW, THE BALANCE OF LIGHT AND DARK HAS REMAINED CONSISTENT. 
BUT A BARRIER HAS BEEN CREATED TOWARDS THE SOUTH...
AND THUS, THE TIDES SHIFT.

Cloaked Specter: So that's, um... the story... thanks for listening...
MK: Yeah, uh. That's kind of a big deal. 
MK: Sorry, dude. I don't think I wanna be a part of this. I just want to get out of here, haha.
CS: But, you, um... you can't? 
CS: You're a part of the legend... you've got to go on a pilgrimage, it, um... says so...
???: OUT OF THE WAY!

*The menacing figure from before jumps down from a nearby roof, frightening CS, causing them to vanish.*

???: That has got to be the STUPIDEST story I've heard. 
MK: You again!?
???: SILENCE! I have a name, you know.
Spadely: I am Spadely, the most fiendish mercenary you will ever set your eyes upon. 
Spadely: I serve my great lord, the ruler of the Crystal Kingdom!

*CS reappears.*

CS: I thought you were just the accountant...?
Spadely: SHUT UP, specter!
Spadely: I WILL capture you three, and...
Spadely: ...why are you looking at me like that. 
MK: Dude, your outfit is kickass! The spikes, the chains, wow! Did you make it yourself?
Spadely: I, uh...
MK: You're working for the ruler of this place? Cool! You can take us to them, right? 
MK: Something about shattering a barrier or whatever, and then we can go home?
Spadely: ...yyyyes. YES! I can take you there! You and I shall form an... alliance! Haha!
Spadely: (This is going to be easier than I thought...)
MK: Alright, guess you and I are off!
MK: Catch you later, Maddie!

*MK and Spadely walk off.*

CS: ...Okay. That's, uh... kind of a problem... oh no...

*Training Lamp waits patiently. 
*Training Lamp takes (2d4) 3 damage from poison, even though it's an inanimate object.

*Maddie casts Cure Wounds!
*Training Lamp recovers (1d8+2) 7 HP!

Taspan: Oh... you didn't have to do that... I have more...

*Training Lamp suddenly falls over backwards and shatters. 
*Maddie groans loudly. 

*Victory! 0 XP gained, 0 GP gained.
