Peshka: ‘In this age of global hyper-consumption, I have the nerve to consider myself a creator and a contemplator. I believe that music should evoke thoughts, because thoughts are energy. Energy to live and create. My goal is to immerse my listeners in my own world and, holding their hand, lead them through my mind palaces.

I've repeatedly heard that my records are a story that starts with one thing, but it's unclear where it will lead at the end of listening, occasionally turning onto the darker paths of my mind. This mix is an allusion to the time period we live in now. The beginning of war, despair, then accepting the reality that says you don't have to give up, you have to move on, but what happens next? It depends only on us’.

Peshka is a producer, DJ, founder of theŲNFORM formation and resident of the Strela Agency booking agency.

DTF MIX / 17 — PESHKA

A new label straight from Ukraine, called Frequencies, is ready with its first joint. For this VA release they decided to gather 4 artists all around Ukraine for the unforgettable house journey.
A-side is starting with Odesa-based guru Rayo (All Inn, Fabric, Propaganda, Body Parts) and continues with a high-quality vinyl selector and producer Vinaya (Wex, Telomere Plastic, Black Pony Orchestra Records) from the capital of Ukraine.
On the flipside we’re having the youngest one from the list – Peshka (Visionquest, Banoffee Pies, Alien Recordings), who was born in Mariupol + last, but not least, the owner of the label, also member of the Aimed trio – Dibe (Adult Only, Drumma, Serialism), who’s currently based in Switzerland.

District 23 was founded during the war on the way to Kyiv from Mariupol. The name comes from the neighborhood in Mariupol where the founder lived. Its goal is to preserve and continue musical work in these difficult times. The founder of the label, Yevhen Shevchuk aka Decorodi, believes that electronic music is a whole universe that is imbued with diversity and countless possibilities that must be used correctly. Electronic music is of great importance and influence in our century. Therefore, the newly created label acts as the first stone in the foundation of the memories of home.

Fragments of the erased past.
Almost all the tracks were recorded at different times in my life in Mariupol. They will remind me of my warmest and most terrible memories. Some projects were restored during the war.

Track from Ukrainian Peshka on the first ever (!) vinyl only release of @secret_feta_records - 4 tracks EP «Cheese Tricks Vol 1 // Honey & Cheese Combo» curated by @mr-sela. From the name it is clear that people know about life and know how to please avid hedonists! Theres another Ukrainian - @vquv witch you may know from Noneside 12" :) Syntelman and Multivers on the record as well. Don't mess with GOATS!

The idea was created in Mariupol in 2020, - Mark Peshka says, - but only the vocals and part of the groove remained from the old project, which became the basis of the track. At the end of 2023, I was approached by French artist Sela, who was starting a new vinyl label and offered to release my stuff. After the usual rummaging through old projects, I found Your Behind and another demo (a little insider), which will also be released on the label's next release. After completing the tracks, I sent them to Doryan (Sela), after which they immediately found their place on vinyl. Despite my overall brooding, sometimes dark and sad vibe, this track has a clubby and aggressive sound that reminds me of my opposite sides.

Mark has a large fan base thanks to his recognizable style in the tech house genre and a bunch of vinyl releases on many labels, such as Visionquest, Re.Face, Banoffee Pies and others. “This track is a physical recording of the hardest period in my life, as well as a reminder to myself that after going through so much, I shouldn’t give up, so let’s keep going,” - says Mark.
