2014 was a big year for Scott Moncrieff AKA thatmanmonkz. Not only did his own label Shadeleaf become firmly established he dropped brilliantly received releases on both Kolour LTD and here on D.O.G.
Scott has managed to tread that fine line of simultaneously picking up props from all angles and wrecking dancefloors the world over whilst remaining resolutely underground and focused on the more interesting corners of dance music. RA rightly stated that ‘Despite the pivotal part his hometown has played in electronic music history, you can't shake the feeling that if this were the work of some auteur from Detroit, Thatmanmonkz would receive wider recognition from the house community.’ And that is why we love him!
Here on his follow up to last years Don’t Slip EP, he delivers 3 lo-fi, dusty, soul- tinged nuggets which have that unique yet instantly identifiable character only the most talented producers are capable of making. Opener In The Trees featuring the vocals of Kahill Anthony who adds a soulful touch to the raw, bumping groove set up by monkz. The kind of magic track that’ll get lodged in your mind and have the heads clamoring for the info when dropped on a big system. Flip over for Make It Now which treads a more familiar loopy disco path but does so in such fine style that you’ll be coming back to this one time and time again. Finally we have Sad n Blue which drops the deepness with fizzing Detroit padz and killer vox samples giving a nod to the moody one but with a throbbing bassline straight out of the nu school. thatmanmonkz is currently holed up in his studio making tracks for his debut LP which we’re happy to announce will be dropping towards the end of this year here on Delusions.

Nebraska is someone who’s tracks we’ve been loving for a good few years now and finally managed to pin him down for a release here on Delusions Of Grandeur. The UK producer is something of an enigma, and despite some amazing releases on Rush Hour still remains resolutely underground and seems to keep his releases to a minimum, focusing on keeping the quality high rather than flooding the market with average material. Once again, he brings the real deal with three drum-heavy warehouse jams to nice-up the dancefloor.
Aw-right (Mute Version) sets the tone with a raw house groove that keeps things stripped to the bare minimum. A bouncing bassline and rattling percussion break help to define the track but it’s the dusty, dubby approach to the mix which really makes the track shine.
Next up we have Warp And Weft, a similar sounding track but by dropping the BPM’s Nebraska has created a sublime low-slung, bumpy groove to really move to.
Flipping over we’re treated to the brilliant Eighty Eights which will have you nodding your head like the Churchill’s dog before you can say ‘looped up piano and bass one bar groove repeated for over eight and a half minutes shouldn’t work should it?’

2015 looks like it could be the year that the Danes make underground dance their own. The long running Tartelet label changed direction last year and found a winning formula releasing the incredible Max Graef LP. You have Paxton Fettel slowly but surely building his name through some fine releases on Apersonal and Greta Cottage Workshop. Now it’s the turn of Uffe to show us why there must be something in the bacon over there. Although now living and studying in Amsterdam, Uffe Christensen has already made some waves with his releases on Catz and Dogs label Pets, and an EP for Tartelet and so when a 6 track demo arrived in the inbox we were all over it. And it was a case of Uffe’s sound is unique yet classic, taking the raw, disco influenced approach of Detroit luminaries Theo and KDJ but with a 2015 twist which sees him sitting comfortably in the ranks of exciting young producers such as Glenn Astro, Max Graef, Damiano Von Erkert and Ugly Drums.
Like You Mean It opens the EP with a suitably bold and confident groove, all lopsided cross-rhythm hats and off-kilter bass. This is seriously lo-fi gritty funk that has been getting a brilliant reaction on the dancefloor. The Detox comes next with more hip-hop influenced house beats where there isn’t a quantized sound in sight but everything seems to fit together just perfectly. This one favors a deeper approach and keeps things very subtle and stripped back to the bare bones.
Flipping over we have Solid Satin (We Can Do Something) which goes percussion- heavy and treads a slightly darker path. Finally we have Good For You which closes the EP in fine fashion and shows Uffe work his magic on a low- slung deep masterpiece. Bending moog lines and dusty guitar samples sit on top of a raw house beat culminating in a track that sounds as fresh and timeless as it does classic and familiar.

Adesse Versions has been dropping some choice originals and edits on a host of renowned and respected labels for the last four years and we’re
proud to add him to the esteemed list of artists to release on Delusions Of Grandeur. From early white labels on Make Love In Public Spaces and his own Adesse Versions label through to his recent outings on Heist, Numbers, Razor n Tape, Let’s Play House and Local Talk, he continuous to impress with his raw, sample-heavy production which brings pure energy to the dance floor.
For his Pulp Fusion EP, Adesse presents three diverse and brilliant cuts, all showing off his deft touch in the studio and providing what we feel is his strongest work to date. Pulp Fusion leads the A side with cutting clavinets doubling up the syncopated bassline, a super-charged romp where disco meets filtered house resulting in a track with widespread appeal despite its raw and underground approach.
The A2 entitled Fade Out drops the BPM’s for a string-drenched, Philly soul jam, heavy on percussion but with a gentle lilt and Balearic vibe that makes it perfect for the wind down.
Last but definitely not your average B side filler we have the mighty Raw in it's Live Edit incarnation. Militantly minimal in sonic palate, this jacked up house track simply rocks the spot thanks to Adesse’s ballsy arrangement, production prowess and nasty bassline, rounding off this EP with a punch.

We’re proud to announce something of an all-star cast on this new release from long-standing Delusions duo Session Victim. Continuing to impress and build a seriously loyal and devoted fanbase around the world through their impeccable DJ sets, live show and release and remixes, 2018 has been another stellar year and 2019 looks set to be even stronger. Recent artists to receive the SV Midas touch include KiNK, Folamour and Nebraska and their recently launched vinyl-only label Pen & Paper has already caused a stir since its inception this year, and only three releases in.

On their latest EP, Session Victim bring us the fruits of some heady, late- night jam sessions in their Hamburg studio, calling on their neighbour Erobique for Rhodes duties on Dawn as well as close friends Iron Curtis and Nebraska who bring their own twist to the organic and dubby SV sound. 

Rounding off the EP is a true master of all things deep and the perfect pro- ducer to bring a dubbed-out twist to Dawn - Sven Weisemann. His classic releases such as Emphazised and Slices demonstrate his ability to lure in the listener through long, extended arrangements and here on his remix of Dawn we see an artist who can skilfully create an incredible atmosphere through a stripped back, reductive approach to production.
