At last, some songs are almost completed and nearly at the mixing and mastering stage - and nearing readiness for the CD release.
This is the final version that you'll hear of this song - before its mixed and mastered version gets pressed, its a bit of a teaser song for you to listen to.... and marks the shape of things to come  
Its been a long journey taking 10 months to complete, and we love the way its evolved from its humblest of beginnings of being the simplest of songs to what its now become... 
We think its now ready for our fans ears to savour - still a little rough around the edges on the vocals, but as we refuse to work with auto tune, we like to think that its little flaws make it all that more human and honest in its delivery....a little bit like the Nepalese shirt that you see in the local 'head shop' with a tag hanging from it, stating that the flaws you see in the weave add to its natural beauty - lol

Time to head off for Folkstock and to leave your appetites whetted for just one last time before we play, we are uploading another demo of one of our songs, This time its our Eastern reworked version of an old English song, The Cuckoo.
Listen out for the Sitar and Tabla amongst the wonderful Violin and fiddle playing... Hope its something you all like :)

This is our version of an old Folk tune entitled Claudy Banks - recorded specially for the BBC Radio 2 Cecil Sharp Collection.
The lyrics and sheet music (originally transcribed by Cecil Sharp) were provided for the song by the Beeb, but as usual, I have thrown the instruction manual away, started from scratch, manipulated the lyrics and tune, and turned the whole thing around to suit the way I feel it should sound. I'm really happy with the end result, and hope that you are too.
3 musicians were involved with this one, myself and two session players.

Claudy Banks

Well after watching tonight's Bert Jansch programme on the BBC, I now realise (and I subconsciously didn't before!) that I am 20% influenced by Jansch!
So, in honour of this new badge I now wear, I'm uploading a new track (from our forthcoming album) which is very much Jansch influenced.
A song written by Anne Briggs after she and Jansch split up, It's also becoming a bit of a funeral farewell favourite - or so I've been told :)

Our current 'work in progress' version of Carolan's - Si Beagh Si Mohr, Gaelic for Big Faerie Mound, Little Faerie Mound. 
This new material heralds our venture into deeper Trad folk waters, bringing almost a classical feel to our distinctive folk sound. 
We love the way this one is progressing, and its going to get much better than this by the time we've finished with it.
This is a sneak preview of what we've been up to in the studio, that will be available for the next 48 hours only.... It'll be available on one of our many planned releases for 2015, but as its New Year - we'll be kind to all our fans and will let this out as a free download - until we pull it down on the 2nd January - unless we get lots of <3 and comments on it??? - then we may let it stay :)

A new ref. working title.... this is our own retro prog rock version of a folk song from 72 by Jethro Tull.... Its a long way off finished yet, and it will sound SO MUCH better in the final mixing with the major addition of Cello, Mandolin, Fiddle, full set of drums, and yes, I'm even considering throwing in a tambourine for good measure :)
A slight move away from our usual material. This one shows a slightly heavier and more prog/folk rockier side to us.
We are introducing a few songs like this into the set, as we have a number of gigs starting to line up, which move away from the requisites of standard folk clubs.
The esoteric genre and song subjects, plus nostalgic feel, (as all of them - for the moment - will be our own renditions of original 70's and 80's songs) will fit in better with the audience we will be playing to, especially the Cornwall gig '3 Wishes' 22nd june, which is attended by a more esoteric and pagan crowd.
So with foresight and method to madness - and not wishing to disappoint and simply fade into the background, the introduction of these songs will hopefully get us noticed by any attendees over the age of 35 :) and possibly win us a few of the younger listeners as well??

The witches promise 158bpm voc ref

DeMalebysse  - have gone back to being a studio project who write and play Trad folk music - with a rich catalogue of fiddle based jigs, rants and reels thrown into the pot, bringing a 21st century edge to some of the oldest songs surviving from the dark ages of Old England. 

I think the current is more important than the past, but I'll give a very brief bio.

Our debut gig in 2013 was also (again) far from the norm. 
Bypassing the standard format of playing countless unpaid local live support gigs to unrelated bands, in backrooms of pubs, to uninterested punters, in a vain attempt to gain some recognition. We somehow managed to fast forwarded ourselves straight onto the main stage of a high profile festival in Hertfordshire. 

With one album already under our belt (released April 2014) we are currently working on our new one and a couple of ep releases with Seth Lakeman / The Levellers / Steeleye Span (amongst many others) producer - Mark Ellis of Propagation House Studios in Cornwall.
