Each track benefits from the sleek, updated 2024 mastering by Haden at Height Mastering, delivering a pristine listening experience.

Back in the early 2000s, Mortlock, a member of Vicious Circle, slipped one of their first demos under the door of Universal Project’s flat. Unexpectedly, this led to their first release on Renegade Hardware—remixing Universal Project’s track ‘Jackhammer’. This connection sparked a creative bond, with Mortlock eventually moving in with Universal Project. Together, they crafted the legendary ‘Rollers Convention’, the first track on this album. Drawing inspiration from the diverse styles that influenced them during those formative years, the album showcases a range of sounds, from soaring melodies to tearout filth, while maintaining the core of their signature rolling vibes.

A masterclass in rollers in the truest sense, this album stands as a personal favourite of Ant TC1, who curated the release over a two-year period as a fan, first and foremost. It perfectly captures the raw, breakbeat-driven tech-funk and heavy percussive 2-step, distinctive to the Siren Records sound. Now complete with additional tracks and singles from the Siren catalogue, this re-release is a must-have for fans.

The Russian returns to close down 2015 in style as he delivers the first single to be taken from his forthcoming sophomore LP, ‘Rituals’, due out on Critical early in December. Keeping us guessing, Enei throws a curveball with the dulcet tones of Charli Brix rolling over lead track ‘Just One Look’ whilst ‘Bad Proof’ takes us firmly into the warped sci-fi arena, perfect for smashing the most ardent of dance floors. Critical Recordings boss and the artist behind this March’s FABRICLIVE 62 CD, Kasra Mowlavi, has confirmed that he’s pressed two exclusive remixes to vinyl to commemorate the CD’s release. The limited edition 10” vinyl is comprised of two of the standout exclusive tracks from the mix: Enei’s stomping remix of Foreign Concept’s ‘Mob Justice’ and Concept’s dark junglist take on Enei’s incredible ‘Obsession’.

Irish imprint Rua Sound continue their journey to the cutting edge of experimental D&B with a fresh EP from Lewis James. 'Clash' melds a host of different influences, with soft, evocative synths on the intro giving way to darker elements as the tune drops into a weighty slab of jungle-infused halftime. Skittering drums and a big bad bassline are present and correct and the arrangement eschews the traditional "intro-verse-breakdown-verse-outro" format in favour of a gradual build and then a gradual fade, something we don't see nearly enough of in the rigid structures of modern dance music. Watch out for the EP coming March 2nd at all good stores...

Bringing intelligently dark drum and bass to the masses is a difficult job, but somebody's gotta do it. This time Mortem takes Demand's hot seat to encourage two tracks with the hard-hitting firepower and sub pressure of a depth charge.
Utilising old school flavours for “Malfunction” while maintaining that technical bite, writhing rhythms are sucked in through his unique sampling vortex to create a track that's all about movement. Multi-layered and thick with attitude, its behemoth of a bassline is barely contained by intricately woven techy percussion.
As one of drum & bass' most reliable sources of prolific high quality, Mortem rises above the rest time and again with his unique take on deep, intelligent beats. This release showcases his love for depth, texture and movement but also his capacity for creativity, which comes in droves.
Both tracks available on Demand Records 12” and Digital Download.
