Bones came back again. I don’t really question its sudden reappearances anymore. We decided to go camping. My reasoning was twofold: first, there are no people around, so hell yeah. Second, Bones gets to experience the woods for the first time. We drove to a sprawling forest and set up camp. The tent poles kept slipping through Bones' fingers, which was honestly really funny. After the tent was set, I taught Bones how to fish. The first fish it caught was a rainbow trout, which was incredibly lucky. When night approached, we cooked everything we caught. But something was wrong. There was an eerie stillness in the woods that wasn’t characteristic of natural vernal ambience. I looked directly behind Bones. From a distant tree, I saw a wavering shadow peek its head from behind. Maybe my mind was playing tricks on me?
