This is a new version of the song Lifecycles, re-arranged for the completely DAWless live performance and recording in one take in my studio. Feel free to like and comment.

This DAWless jam was created to mark the second anniversary of the release of Demiurgo’s flagship album Holographic Ghost Stories, which is already available as digital streaming or download and cassette, and was also celebrated with a new limited edition digipack CD release including the original tracks (plus two remixes).

Lifecycles Live

When I was a kid, my very first synth was the Commodore 64. At that time I used to sequence music in Basic code entering hexadecimal data. Another passion as a teen was progressive rock, such as the Deep Red (Dario Argento’s “Profondo Rosso”) horror soundtracks by Goblin and Claudio Simonetti. 
“Chip Red - Profondo Rosso Chiptune” is crafted from the heart, merging these two early passions of mine, featuring the iconic C64 and vintage retrowave instruments such as the Ensoniq SQ80 (from Bob Yannes, the designer of the c64 SID chip) or a ORLA electronic organ from the 80s: a sonic tribute to the past and a step into the future, with modern effects and sequencing.
