‚The Mustang‘ opens the EP with a massive rolling groove, topped by several layers of energetic synth stabs, building towards an epic break.

‚The Bronco‘ starts out with a more minimalistic groove, but then raises the intensity with a mental synth line, peaking in a massive crescendo of distorted hooks.

Finally, Juliet Fox delivers a slamming remix, speeding the BPM up and streamlining the beat even more.

Rico is - amongst many other things - a trained pianist, a self-trained guitarist, a drummer, a musicologist, a Zappa enthusiast, a struggler, a neurotic, a martyr of art and, most-notably: A genuine, perpetually driven music producer! Gregor has been a fan of Rico´s music for years, and - being blown off his socks by his recently released full length album Obi Thine Xi - had to ask Rico for some original music to be released on Break New Soil. Et voila: „Afar“ landed in our mailbox like a beacon of light in these dark times for club culture! On top of the three outstanding original tracks, we couldn´t be happier to have Alexander Kowalski working his magic on „Axioms". Markantonio makes a return to his label AnalyticTrail with a release that features the label owner's original music alongside a remix by Metodi Hristov.

One of Italy's most respected techno artists, Markantonio is one of the people who helped kick start the country's club scene in the '90s. With a career that spans over two decades, Markantonio has travelled the world as a headline DJ, and released tracks on labels ranging from Second State and Drumcode to Mindshake.

Metodi Hristov is at the forefront of Bulgaria's club scene, and is known globally for his distinctive style that blends powerful synth lines with hypnotic percussion and dark atmospherics. Label owner of Set About, he has also released music on other scene leading imprints such as Terminal M, Octopus and Filth On Acid.

The solo original track on this release titled "The Light" is a gritty techno track built around a pulsating acid bassline and thrashing high-end percussion. Dark and intense it's an unrelenting cut with a peak time energy and industrial elements.

Stepping up on remix duty, Metodi Hristov’s rework of The Light is a smoother version that swaps the gritty industrial elements for dystopian synths and a new bassline. Losing none of the fast-paced energy, this tantalising version adds a twisted euphoria while also making use of the original's trippy vocal sample.

Hyperactive is classic rave-style techno. Belocca was very keen to use old-fashioned rave sounds from the likes of The Prodigy and others from that era, as they were a huge influence growing up. These of course seasoned with key Belocca herbs and spices to make this techno belter.
