Before Jensen Interceptor & before Light Year there was Mik Tha Menace and it was no secret that i wanted to be just like my hero Ajax. I remember like it was yesterday the first time i saw him dj at a club called goodbar on oxford street and thinking WOW who is this guy and what the hell is he doing behind those decks. Lucky for me a few months later a party started called bang gang where i had the privilege of witnessing his magic every friday night.
Once i progressed from fan to friend i told him i wanted to learn how to DJ and asked him if he could show me a few things, he said no problem and encouraged me to do so. I went around to his house, he played me a bunch of records that he was really into at the time and gave me some to take home to practice my mixing. Thats the kind guy Adrian was, extremely friendly, genuine, thoughtful & always giving of his time despite being the busiest DJ in australia.
Obviously trying to be like Ajax was an impossible goal, as no one could be like Adrian, he was a true diamond in the ruff, to this day i have not encountered a human being with the energy and charisma that adrian possessed and I miss how special he made you feel when you were around him. None the less In an attempt to be like him i entered the world of production thanks to a lot help from my good friend JFlex aka Light Year. I started making edits of tracks to improve my DJ sets and because of this (thanks to adrian) it opened up a whole new world for me, a world which i now live and breath.
This mix is a tribute to Jaxy, a collection of those edits along with some Jaxy anthems that i always loved hearing him play. I do have to apologise for how ruff some of these edits are, some of them were the first things i ever did in abelton, i hope you enjoy it regardless and that it reminds you of Australia's No.1 DJ, The Dance floor extraordinar, The white boy with booty, The Prince Of Disco Nouveau a true Dance Legend, AJAX!

A journalist and activist accused of working with Anonymous has been given a five-year prison term and ordered to pay nearly $900,000 in restitution and fines. Barrett Brown was sentenced on Thursday after pleading guilty last year to charges of transmitting threats, accessory to a cyber-attack, and obstruction of justice. Supporters say Brown has been unfairly targeted for investigating the highly secretive world of private intelligence and military contractors. After his sentencing on Thursday, Brown released a satirical statement that read in part: "Good news! -- The U.S. government decided today that because I did such a good job investigating the cyber-industrial complex, they're now going to send me to investigate the prison-industrial complex." We discuss Brown's case with Kevin Gallagher, a writer, activist and systems administrator who heads the Free Barrett Brown support network.
