With a strong desire to contribute something unique to the underground techno scene, Bob Semp is continuously exploring and developing his sound, blending raw, deep, and tribal elements into his tracks.

In 2023, Bob Semp released his first music. His work has been featured on labels such as SYXT, Children Of Tomorrow, MZR and Xelima. While proud of his progress, Bob remains dedicated to learning and evolving, enjoying each step as he continues to grow as an artist.

"Opening with a track of my own leads the mix into deeper hypnotic sounds that carry the first half of the set. Shifting later, I push the energy to be more driven, building that to and fro rhythmic tug.

There is always a push and pull, a play on light and dark, a reach to find centre of duality. For me there was a feeling of resistance while recording this mix, there is a need for transformation within myself, within our community, our industry. I feel I have drifted due to the current trends of social media and the lack of values that was once so deeply rooted in our music. 

But there is a knowing that everything is cyclical, there is a moment of letting go and waiting for the rebirth."

FREMD Podcast 43: ROCKO GARONI

This one ended up being four tracks rather than five, not by design, just one of those moments where the mixes felt right and I didn’t want to force another track in for the sake of it. I’d rather let the music breathe than tick a box.

These are all tracks I’ve been genuinely loving this week, from digging through vinyl pages online, to Scottish warehouse energy, to proper euphoric hard dance closers. Some blends are longer, some shorter, but the flow felt right, and that’s what I’ve been enjoying most about doing these weekly uploads.

Also worth saying: one of the joys of DJing for me is finding music through other people who really care about the scene, crate diggers, vinyl heads, and pages keeping hard house alive. If you like what you hear here, go digging too.
