Something About Settler Colonialism, the debut release by KØBA DØBA (aka Mr. Babadook), is a bold foray into dark psytrance/psycore, marked by its abstract, experimental sound that defies genre conventions. 

With a unique blend of polyrhythmic tribal percussion, glitchy drone elements, and eroded textures, this release oscillates between slambient and ethnocore, occasionally introducing subtle hints of jazz, creating an immersive, psychedelic experience. This rich and dynamic tapestry of layered soundscapes is used by KØBA DØBA to explore and confront themes such as settler colonialism, surveillance, and social responsibility.

The album opens with "Drone(s) Over Khan-Younis", a haunting reflection on the experience of living under relentless military surveillance. This is followed by "Sikiyn Yuqasim Al-Quds" (A Knife Divides Jerusalem), a stark portrayal of a society fractured by settler violence. The third track, "West-Bank Story", introduces jazz-infused elements, reflecting on the dual nature of walls, both physical and metaphorical. The EP closes with "Lumpenravetariat", a powerful critique of the psychedelic community’s role in confronting social and political issues.

With its intricate rhythms and haunting sound textures, Something About Settler Colonialism offers a profound auditory experience, merging intense sonic experimentation with sharp socio-political commentary.

Hi There! My name is Ákos Pecze a young Hungarian producer behind Nasgul and Alien Hardware projects.
I'm influenced by the great powers and events of nature and it guides me on my journey, both in life and music. I'm producing music since 2009. That was the point when i started to put my ideas together from scratch and mind.
My aim is to fill the people and the dancefloors around the world with the energy I feel whenever I'm playing, composing or listening to music. I would like to connect the minds of the people to the global energy flow. First i usually set my act into a deep natural atmosphere, get tuned to it and collect energy. Then give a twist to it by supernatural and outerspace atmosphere.
