Lamine is a famous bboy from France. He was asking me about doing a mix for his Redbull event and while looking through some vinyl for the mix, I found a sample and made this track, so the name stuck. Afro and Latin percussion ​maestro Sam Debell, aka People’s Rhythm, also from the UK, but living in China added the killer percussion.

Here it is folks! The long awaited Luxury Boom Bap album. I knocked up this promo mix because: 

I love doing mixes, never play my own tunes and wanted to give you guys a taste of the album in a better format than just fade in and outs.

Been a long process with this album. Due to the volume of features, trying to keep every one happy and get feedback itself has taken a year of my time! 
It’s been finished almost 2 years, I’ve just had issues going between two studios, mix-downs, gigs, label switches, podcasts, partying… and I always try and spend as much time with my amazing family as possible, so having fun with them takes priority over caffeine fuelled, dark studio days!

Any way it’s out there, being released on Break Beat Paradise Records on the 1st May. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it and out of the 13 tracks there’s something for your BBQ, car/bus journeys or DJ sets.

Shouts to all the artists involved, all the people who have helped behind the scenes and every one who supports in the future.

Jam City have tapped A.Skills for a new remix release of Ali B and the Jungle Brothers collaborative new single, 'Gimme That'.

Focusing on quality over quantity, the funky London imprint has notched up releases from some of the electronic music scene's most promising new talent with hotly tipped D&B producer Halflight being the latest gem to be unearthed by the outlet.

It's the label boss that stills the show this time out though, with his club orientated take on the track fast becoming a new favourite in the DT office. Originally a jazz enthused, old school hip hop number with a bad attitude, 'Gimme That' was always prime material for A.Skills eclectic nature and his knack of smashing dance floors to pieces.
