ABOUT Jules David:

A local producer comes onto the stage on the 30th of April! Be sure to come down for some original sound flavours~

Jules David is an Australian DJ & producer based in Naarm, born in 1990. Jules has always been strongly affected by mininal/micro & deep house tunes and the evolving flavours present in all kinds of music.

His DJ sets tell stories of the various underground flavours that are most inspiring to him, drawing much influence from the underground dance music scene in Australia and abroad.

As a producer his music has touches of avantgarde mixed with elements of dub, whilst remaining irresistibly groovy.

Since an early age, he was exposed to a wide variety of sounds and different genres.
It was Drum & Bass which first introduced him to the vast sonic landscapes of electronic music, after eventually developing the taste for all various flavours of house and techno.

He is currently working on a number of upcoming EPs, including for the Naarm label Motion:Theory:Music, who he helps to manage alongside fellow DJs Ben Abrahams & Katharine.

He is currently a resident DJ with the Over crew who frequently put on events at Killing Time, and has played for many underground parties and crews throughout Naarm over the years. But his passion remains in the fun of making beats, and the search for that certain frequency, soundscape or dubby groove 🙂

Opening a party& setting the vibe is always an honour.  I was rather glad to bring minimal house to this crew!  I started with our friend Timmus' amazing new piece which felt just perfect, then moved through an hour of fresh new dancefloor minimal with a couple of West Coast classics which I ripped from special 16 year old records. 
This is a short fast mix for me, not as deep or heavy as I usually go....picture the Paladium - a huge club in Melbourne - first set before about 12 hrs of friends!



Even if the dancefloor was just starting, I was playing most deliberately for the MelBURNers as they did their last minute setup, & those keenly arriving on time.  

The stage setup was tremendous & the lighting spectacular!!

Jordan Diston has been collecting music and DJing for the past 15 years. His own party discotech has seen him play across the world from London to Ibiza to New York in some of the worlds most established venues like Fabric London, 93 Feet East, Distrikt, Lab11, The Zoo Project, Game Over, Archivio, Privilege, Sankeys, EGG London, Forbidden Forest and many more. 

His label discotech WAX has been supported by the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Jamie Jones, Raresh, Enzo Siragusa, Richy Ahmed, Archie Hamilton, Gene On Earth, Chris Stussy, Danny Tenaglia, Joseph Caprati and beyond. Cementing itself a versatile imprint which is going from strength to strength.

2024 see's Jordan focussing more on his own productions as he starts to release music as well as a string of gigs across the UK, Europe and the US.

Nezar @Soundscapes Returns To Zanzi II | 10.07.22 (Ambient Set)

What is this word "Dendritic?" Merriam Webster defines it as such: adjective - den·drit·ic | \ (ˌ)den-ˈdri-tik- : resembling or having dendrites : branching like a tree. There was something about learning this word that stuck with a young college freshman taking environmental science and just barely learning how to mix electronic music on vinyl in the early 2000’s. It seems that this is the natural shape of growth in our world; many things take this shape and branch out this way, and so would the young man’s music. Since the beginning, a variety of musical styles and moods of dance music has always been a key focus of the Dendritic repertoire of sound. You can expect to hear everything from deep house and trippy playa tech to tech house, dirty bass house, techno, minimal, and occasional forays into breakbeat territory. Moving through different styles and sounds gracefully, with purpose, is an artform this DJ/aspiring producer takes seriously and continues to master.

After spending many years living in Austin, TX and becoming established as a solid music curator and technically focused DJ he made his move to Denver, CO in 2013. Years of going to shows regularly, continuously releasing new mixes, and building a home studio, have led to the artist more commonly known as “Leo” becoming established in the Colorado area as well. Most notably he has shared the decks playing in support of Ardalan, Bruno Furlan, Yotto, and Tim Green. Continuing to DJ and share music, learn music production, and build the newly created dance music non-profit, Tech Support Music, are what drives this dedicated creator.
