Josh Butler makes an appearance on Definition with his delightfully retro ‘Sideways Acid’ EP. Opening the 3 track EP is the title track, a rich, thick throwback to the days of Acid House sure to get any dance floor moving in no time. Next, we’ve got ‘Educate’, a straight house percussion with a warm rhythmic chord thrown over it. It’s relaxed enough to listen to at home, but contains enough energy to be played in the club. Lastly, ‘What I Want’ starts us off with a nice and heavy beat before building up to a playful bass line and wandering vocal cuts that sit nicely in the background. All in all, Josh Butler shows us a beautiful example of how modern House done right.

Following on from their 2017 Sola Trigger Kick EP, German talent Raumakustik return with their signature sound on Solardo’s label for a hefty two-track package in the form of the Good Times EP. 

Lead EP track Good Times features a captivating vocal sample that chops into a rumbling bassline amongst cluttering percussion made for the dancefloor. Meanwhile, In Up Me draws on heavy sub textures before rolling into a vivacious synth hook. With both tracks making for peak-time weapons, the Good Times EP makes Raumakustik’s return to Sola very much worth the wait.

After a prolific rise with Beatport no.1 Dem A Pree in 2016, Sebastian and Volker better known as Raumakustik have been ruling the tech house game with intricate originals. With continued support from fellow DJ heavyweights including Fatboy Silm, Jamie Jones, Martin Solveig, Laidback Luke, Pete Tong, Green Velvet and more the duo continue to go from strength to strength seeing them release on the likes of Hot Creations, Toolroom, Suara and Formatik.
