Mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum" - one of the most famous mantras in Mahayana Buddhism, especially characteristic of Tibetan Buddhism, is the six-syllable mantra of the bodhisattva of compassion Avalokiteshvara. The mantra is especially associated with Shadakshari (Lord of the Six Syllables), the incarnation of Avalokiteshvara, and has a deep sacred meaning.

This mantra has many meanings. All of them come down to explaining the meaning of the totality of sacred sounds of its constituent syllables. The mantra itself is rarely interpreted in the sense due to its literal translation: "Oh, the pearl that shines in the lotus flower!"

In particular, the 14th Dalai Lama explains that the mantra represents the purity of the body, speech and mind of the Buddha. The second word (མ་ཎི། - "jewel") corresponds to bodhichitta - the desire for awakening, compassion and love. The third word (པ་དྨེ། - "lotus flower") refers to wisdom. The fourth word (ཧཱུྃ།) personifies the indivisibility of practice (method) and wisdom.

This mantra has its own name, namely “Six-syllable”, which is traditionally explained [by whom?] by the ability of the six syllables of the mantra to save living beings from birth in the six vales of samsara (hellish worlds, the world of hungry ghosts, the world of animals, the world of people, the world of demigods, the world of the gods), while each syllable symbolizes a certain world.

The practice of reading the "Six-syllable" in order to liberate living beings is reflected, in particular, in the Tibetan practice of reciting dharani "The practice of heavenly activity of Avalokiteshvara": OM - removes pride and conceit, MA - removes jealousy and envy, NI - removes attachment and selfish desires, PAD - dispels ignorance and confusion, ME - dissolves greed and greed, HUM - transforms hatred and anger.

Another, much more common colloquial designation for this mantra is Mani, by which name it is commonly known and used by Tibetan and Mongolian Buddhists.

There is also a version that claims that reading the mantra gives prosperity, abundance and money, where Om means Brahma, who is beyond everything unmanifested, Mani is a gem or crystal, Padme is a lotus, Hum is the heart.

Matthias aka M.Age.Project first met Dr. Christian Rätsch, the well-known ethnologist and shamanism expert from Hamburg, who has researched shamanic cultures and their ethnopharmacological, ethnomedicinal and ritual use of plants and mushrooms all over the world, at some seminars, from which a friendly contact developed. When they made the Mayan language recordings for this track in a private meeting during the pandemic in the summer of 2020, no one could have guessed that this bundled wisdom from the remote jungle world of the Lacandon people in southern Mexico, among whom Christian lived for three years, would so soon become a legacy.

Christian gave us these three essential phrases in Lakandon Maya: 

• ki' ile tu' kabin – Carefully watch where you are going.
• ki' ibah awilik tech – Carefully observe the things you see.
• ki' känan ta bäh – Carefully protect yourself.

Matthias derived all the core elements of his organic bouncy slow psy track from the rhythmic structure of the first phrase and, by transferring the voice recording via Formant Motion function into his Korg Radias synthesizer, he created a unique mysterious sound trip.
With their signature remixes, @andreasbalicki, @amu_amu, @paykusten and @ex-mono explore further sonic realms in the vast depths between nature and sound synthesis.

Christian Rätsch died unexpectedly on September 17, 2022, as a result of a stomach ulcer.

With the utmost respect, we thank him for his extraordinary work and his kind collaboration with us.

Likewise, we would like to thank Christian's Lakandon friends and teachers who shared their invaluable knowledge of the jungle with him so that it may be preserved for the world.

In the spirit of Christian's motto "Love life!" we now want to carry on the "essence" with our music together with you on the dance floor!

Ian Ludvig breaks into Surrrealism with “Almost Human EP”.

A 3 track high voltage package to sign a top notch release. The Spanish talent bursts in with his roughest side to complete a work destined for the dancefloor. A display of talent to create avant-garde sounds.

"Almost Human" kicks things off. With an imposing bass drum that gives way to a firm bass and accompanied by drilling percussions. A sweet melody is the prelude to an explosion that will shake every foundation on the dancefloor.

"Closing Doors" is the follow up. Immersing us in a dynamic and incessant rhythm, a vocal breaks in and leads us to melancholy. The rough synthesizers appear in an imposing way to every nerve in our body. A waste of mastery on Ian's part.

"Karnak" is the last stop. Welcome to the gates of hell. Gloomy atmospheres and mysterious sounds riding on a rough rhythm teleport us to the underground. A storm of roars unleashing uncontrolled rage. The lights go out, we enjoy the darkness.

Cover by Nuria Baena. For this special release, we wanted to pay tribute to one of our main sources of inspiration. A mind capable of escaping reality and creating infinite surreal worlds. Salvador Dalí has left a legacy that will remain forever. His extravagant way of facing and questioning his environment fits perfectly with our concept.
