Tripswitch’s blossoming ONEDOTSIXTWO imprint continues to seek out and feature the finest world-class talent within the global underground progressive house scene with their 12th release, which sees the much-anticipated return of Arizona USA’s Brenden LaBonte (aka Forerunners) who has teamed up with Mir Omar (one of NY’s most exciting rising electronic talents) to create the stunning ‘Time Interrupted’. The package is further enhanced with an equally excellent remix courtesy of the supremely talented Sri Lankan DJ/Producer Subandrio.

‘Time Interrupted (Original Mix)’ rides on a masterfully hypnotic percussive groove and is perfectly balanced melodically between deeply desirous subtlety and spine-tingling emotive peaks. This first fruit from this intensely creative collaborative project between Forerunners and Mir Omar is music of wonderful magnificence. As a perfect artistic compliment, Subandrio’s jaw dropping remix takes the track to a new level, injecting energy, passion and beauty within layers of heart-fluttering peak time melodic joy. With this latest exceptional package ONEDOTSIXTWO, once again, establishes precisely why truly progressive house music is such a joy to behold.

Forerunners & Mir Omar - Time Interrupted (Subandrio Remix)

A long-association with Proton Music, Andre Sobota impressed once more with his outstanding "Alter Ego" EP in February 2019. With remixes of "Held Over" already finding their way to the Particles catalogues in April 2019, the EP continues to provide remix ammunition for Australian and Argentinean icons.

Matty Doyle is an artist that will be fully familiar to dance music cognoscenti under his Matter pseudonym. An Australian phenomenon, Matter has risen to the upper echelons of the underground fraternity with a vast array of original and remix production material that has catapulted him to the top of the Beatport charts on numerous occasions. Thus, work for Replug, Anjunadeep, Sudbeat and onedotsixtwo, both as solo and collaborative artist, has provided the Melbourne star with a 24-carat portfolio. 

December 2016's "Pronoia" and November 2017's "We Are Dust" have seen Matter hit the headlines on Proton Music, while co-production work with fellow Melbourne resident, GMJ, has seen the duo score a number of additional triumphs. Both solo EPs have featured with remixes on Particles before October 2018 fired "Re Entry" to success alongside Universal Harmonics. Returning to remix on the label for the first time since November 2016, the Matter reworking of "Dreamless" is typically impressive. Aptly titled, his "Dreamstates" remix is full of ethereal pads and delicate melodic motifs that revel in sumptuous delays and deep kick. A trademark pulsating bassline adds further to the track as Sobota's vocal phrasing then finds its way to the aural party in tandem with a host of additional production material from the Matter armoury.

Another artist recognised for his mastery of a distinctive and sought-after production sound, Guillermo Cornejo has courted considerable success via his Antrim moniker. A DJ from an early age with a growing legion of fans, production success quickly followed with a 2013 appearance on Nick Warren's Hope Recordings and subsequent Renaissance compilation. Almost 500 production credits can be found next to the Antrim name as he became a regular on the likes of Balkan Connection, Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. 

Particles has also played an important part in the Antrim career trajectory as a debut on the "Summer 2014" compilation then saw "Metheney" with a release of its own 6 months later with remixes from GMJ and Simos Tagias. January 2018's "Dizziness" followed while a remix of Mio and His Flute in early 2019 is now followed by the Antrim stamp of quality as he takes on "Alter Ego". Building upon a strong rhythmic foundation, a rippling arpeggio gathers momentum while smooth new melodic phrasing wends its way across the 8-minute piece; its themes rooted in Sobota's track. The bass stab so central to the original makes its presence felt throughout in an original and innovative remix that showcases Antrim's production talent in abundance.

Remixes from Matter and Antrim have kept Andre Sobota's "Alter Ego" firmly in the spotlight.

The Changing Lanes EP leads the charge, with two tracks rooted in Gab Rhome's journey in dance music thus far. Harnessing a career's worth of world influences, RDV 001 is the start of a new story.

After All That pays tribute to the classic Gab Rhome groove - a housey beat overlays soothing vocals, reigning in the ropes for the b-side. A charming melody brings light to a tune driven by a sad and reflective message, with Gab himself providing the vocal chops.

"The pace of the vocal in After All That is inspired by RnB, soul music and general warmth. In fact, it's a bit of a contradiction to In The Rain There's No Lane." It's a tune for the calmer moments, with a groove that allows thoughts to flow freely. "The goal was to go for the cream on top of an espresso: packed with flavor, comforting, and a goosebump-based cure for a sleepy soul."

With "Mephisto“ and "42° Celsius“ the Berlin-based producer Matthias Schuell debuts on Blindfold Recordings. Due to his education in classical music, it comes to mind that classical instruments find their way on to Matthias Schuell's productions.

„42° Celsius“ comes in a very minimalistic fashion. A reiterating rhythm rarely unsettled with a big bawl of a bass line is complemented with high triolic pizzicato stabs that are dripping down on the pumping beat. This meditative state is lacerated with a loud and piercing synth figure. The contrast between repetition and disruption is what makes this track unique and interesting, a workable tool for the dance floor.

Jannis & Lean are North Collective. Why North Collective? Because they romanticize cold and stormy places.  Nobody ever took them to the Caribbean. They released their “Nurture EP” in 2016 on andmusic. 
@dominik-marz got almost the same feelings, even when he is based in Augsburg/Bavaria.  With his 12”release “Tryads” in 2017 he delivered a masterpiece for andmusic as well. He is doing pretty well right now. Together with his buddy David Kochs (Only For A While) they have some smashers in circulation.  For example: "Bavarian Belter" or “Ghost Trance EP” find support by Ame, Dixon and Solomun.  Dominik delivers two fresh versions for “Haunt”. Clubby, dark & deep. Perfectly converted into something great. Forever and timeless, we think. Grab one of the limited 12” distributed via Kompakt.
 
trndmsk: What inspired you to make the remix? 

Dominik Marz: I’ve been a huge fan of the original from the start and I loved the atmosphere of the track. The vocals also reminded me of The XX,  so I knew I had to try it.

How did you approach the original track?

I played around with the original parts and tried to make sort of an edit first. I changed the beats and added sounds from the CR-78 drum machine (which I really love). I played around with some additional melodies and leads and made it more floor- friendly than the original version. For those who aren’ t into vocals I made a dub version too.

Where and how did you produce it?

It was produced in my home studio in Augsburg. I always work with Ableton and some hardware synths and drum machines to get the best of both worlds. 

How did you get in contact with the record label?

I already released two EPs on the label. One as Dominik Marz, the other one as Yandom (a project with my friend Yannick Labbé ). Stefan and Tobi from the label have been running one of the most successful parties in my hometown called auto.matic.music. Those club nights had an huge influence on me as a dj and producer.. so it’s great to release some music on their label again.

Who asked you for the remix?

Tobias Schmid from the label told me that they wanted to have some remixes and I told him that I wanted to try it.

What’s up next after the release? 

I finished a lot of music recently. I remixed Alex Smoke (as Wraetlic) and finished my upcoming EP for Belters (Huntleys & Palmers). After that there will be an EP with Yannick Labbé on Feines Tier and some more tracks on compilations and so on. 

Are you working on other projects?

Basically I have two main projects I’m working on besides my solo stuff. One with David Kochs and the other one with Yannick Labbé. Both great musicians and friends. What else could you wish in this world of music?

Narcissus, according to the poet Ovid in his Metamorphoses, is a handsome youth who falls in love with his own reflection. Unable to tear himself away, he dies of his passion, and even as he crosses the Styx -a river that forms the boundary between Earth and the Underworld- continues to gaze at his reflection.

The painting conveys an air of brooding melancholy: the figure of Narcissus is locked in a circle with his reflection, surrounded by darkness, so that the only reality is inside this self-regarding loop.”

Psychedelic reminiscences, vibrant percussions, and hypnotic progressions characterize the eclectic sound of Ángel and Hugo, A.K.A. Mordisco.

Hailing from Granada, Spain, they play records and produce music together. Their approach blurs the lines between Techno, House, and Disco – providing a very free and personal vision to dance music.

This vision recently translated to an EP released on My Favorite Robot Records that included a remix from the respected veteran producer, DJ and remixer Sascha Funke. Also, earlier this year, their track “Zenit” released on Coloray’s Intercept records and made many dancefloors move.

Thanks to the organization and curating of their Mordisco Club parties in their hometown, Ángel and Hugo have been able to obtain an expression channel since 2011 with which they show their particular vision of independent electronic music.

That expression is clearly represented in the guest artists who have gone through their parties and with those who have shared booth: Red Axes, Fort Romeau, John Talabot, Pional, and Jeniffer Cardini, amongst many others.

The next step for Mordisco is the release of a new track right before the end of the year and forthcoming on Applescal's Atomnation records. "Ventura" has a punk-indie feel with a magic scat vocal sample that's right on the money and will make many dancefloors move.
