For their third release SAISEI present a reissue of highly respected Japanese producer Suzukiski’s 1993 debut album Thought LP.

The full 12 tracks from the original release will be released on vinyl for the first time - with the majority of tracks exclusively re-edited for vinyl extended play.

Takahiro Suzuki is hugely prolific within Japanese electronic music culture yet has remained under the radar despite releasing over 9 albums between 1993 and 2006. Thought was his debut long player and is a perfect example of his minimal and poised approach to production. Across the 12 tracks he shows off his aptitude for creating delicate yet effective house and techno, referencing the Detroit sound that was eminanating and revolutionaising electronic music at the time. For sleeve notes of the release Suzukiski lent this quote, speaking of the Detroit influence “These artists created these simple and minimal tracks that were so beautiful and gave me joy, yet I’d never seen their faces before.”

Based on a solid groove and created on the limited hardware setups which were key to the time of its creation, the album carries all the charm of minimal all hardware made music. The result is a timeless collection of tracks that show a serious commitment to refined sound with a joyous and carefree uplifting feeling.

SAISEI - run by London based, Japan born DJ Junki Inoue continues to unearth and present vital and special recordings from the 90s era of Japanese electronic music production. In this case Thought was first self released by the artist as a private CD that was literally delivered hand to hand or by post until it was licensed by Soup Disk licenced the music in 2003 and received a wider CD release with some export outside of Japan.

The double pack vinyl package is accompanied by two sets of liner notes by Rei Harakami and Soup Disk label owner Masaaki Hara written for Soup Disk’s 2003 reissue with a English translations and will be released in October 2021.

The South African phenomenon Black Coffee has become well known in recent years due to his impeccable blend of house, infused with African culture and vibes. In 2012, ‘Buya’ was released featuring the stunning vocalist Yoshi.  The track went platinum in Africa in 2 months, bringing Black Coffee into the international spotlight. Now, Get Physical has taken the reigns and handed the track over to Loco Dice, M.A.N.D.Y. and Da Cappo for their remix wizardry.  

Loco Dice who has African roots spends his proceeds of the EP for the development of the new website, and the donation campaign for the Kliptown Youth Centre in Soweto, South Africa, a non-profit project that provides hope through tutoring, athletic, music and arts programs.  The returns will go to helping the heroes of the Kliptown Youth Center in Soweto, South Africa, giving kids a chance to create and express themselves whereas they might not have had that chance before. The youth is our future, and right now they need our help and support.

Ben Westbeech (aka Breach) was responsible for two top ten hits in 2013, the iconic bassline track ‘Jack’ followed by ‘Everything You Never Had (We Had It All)’. This track with Dennis is a departure from the jacked-up style of those records, with more of a laidback, steadily building, main-room vibe. A catchy, silky-smooth vocal compliments Dennis’s customarily watertight production, making for an expansive, symphonic track that is sure to get hands raised on the dancefloor. For Dennis Ferrer fans this makes for an extraordinary return to Defected, and an indication of plenty more sensational new music coming right up.

Die Kompilation knüpft an sein letztes Album „Facets“ an und bringt noch einmal Remixe der Originale des 2018 erschienen Longplayers.

Just in time for his 30th DJ anniversary, another longplayer by Toni Rios called "Facets / Work Out - Unrelased & Exclusive" will be released. The compilation follows his last album "Facets" and brings remixes of the originals of the 2018 released longplayer. The album was characterized by Toni's influences of the last 30 years, always changing between house, trance and techno, and not least by his long residencies in the legendary clubs Omen, U60311 and Cocoon in his hometown Frankfurt. Not to mention his DJ tours around the globe, where he shared his workplace with the biggest international DJs. With this compilation Toni Rios concludes the chapter "Facets", it features 18 more remixes, some of which are unreleased so far exclusively on "Facets / Work Out - Unrelased & Exclusive"!

Another highlight of this Album is that artists from 14 nations could be won over for the remixes.

Right place, right time. It's an old cliché, but it's one that's been the definition of Dennis Ferrer's musical career. Just as the dance music world was heading into the world of afro-centric house, Ferrer was there. And then, when it began to embrace the mix of tech and soul, Ferrer was there again, leading the way with his impeccable productions. As Ferrer goes, it seems, so does electronic music. And, as someone who's never content to do the same thing twice, it's clear that he'll be staying on top for years to come.

Ferrer burst back into the consciousness of most dance music heads with the release of "Sandcastles," (Ibadan) his collaboration with Jerome Sydenham in 2003. But, to his credit, Ferrer didn't simply repeat the formula afterwards. He has continued to push a variety of genres all at once. It's clear that Ferrer isn't content to rest on his laurels: he's too busy dreaming up new ways to shock and delight audiences.

In the mid-90’s, Ferrer was crafting techno records as Morph and then had success in the Afro and gospel house scenes with releases via his Sfere label, an imprint he began alongside Kerri Chandler. But it's this past work that gives his new productions such resonance: unlike many of this house peers, Ferrer's techno experience has given him an edge that you can hear in his recent work.

"Son of Raw," (Ibadan) "Church Lady," (Defected) "Underground Is My Home," (King Street Sounds), "Touched the Sky" (King Street Sounds), “Transitions” (King Street Sounds), “P 2 Da J” (Defected),  “Sinfonia Della Notte” (Strictly Rhythm), “Hey Hey” (Objektivity), “Red Room” (Objektivity), “Underground” Nick Curly – Dennis Ferrer Remix (Defected), to name a few, have all been huge dance floor anthems and all show a different side of the Ferrer personality as well as his impressive range as producer and remixer.

Ferrer has brought his ‘anything goes’ approach to his label, Objektivity.  Celebrating its 8th anniversary in 2014, the imprint has thus far focused itself on vocals, featuring often unlikely turns from indie heroes like Ane Brun and Télépopmusik. Low slung and deep, Objektivity is a cutting-edge label in touch with its time, putting a uniquely American spin on the deep house revival that is currently making waves in Europe. Objektivity is a living, breathing thing - one that's set to drop bombs on the dance floor for years to come.

While Ferrer closes out 2013 with “Mind Ur Step” (Defected), “Mind Ur Dub” (Objektivity) and a remix of Coyu - “Salvation” (Noir Music), the best is yet to come. With a deep knowledge of the past and a constant push for the future, Ferrer remains one of the true greats of house music - a leader and innovator whose enjoying the buzz around him but keeping on pushing the limits.
