(Kelley/Grant/King/Suber) Recorded in 1992, this track employs Dr. King's "mountaintop" speech from the night before his assassination in Memphis, combined with a chorus sung by Suber, a brilliant musician now living in France, who penned the lyrics with Dennis.  The original concept, once again, was from Bruce, who memorably noted "It's not supposed to make you feel good - it's supposed to be upsetting."  Produced and engineered by Dennis Kelley at DK Studio.

My favorite track, and probably my finest hour, from the Huge Voodoo era: "Snapshots".  Bruce Grant came up with the loop (Wayne Shorter) that provided the backbone and inspiration for the backing track for Bahiyyah's poem.  That's Miles on the fade, of course.

An excerpt from an inspired 30-minute seat-of-the-pants home recording by the late great Bruce Grant, my partner in Huge Voodoo, and DeeKay Jones.   Source material: a late-'60s/early '70s instrumental LP (by King Tubby, perhaps?) made for Jamaican DJs to toast (i.e., rap) over.   Recorded in Ultra Lo-Fi with a turntable and a cheap mic against the playback speaker, fed into a borrowed Roland Space Echo (thank you, Bill Hall), and into a cassette deck.  "To be listened to in the spirit in which it was made."  Strike one up and enjoy, mon.
