Zu elektronischer Musik tanzen ist sie schon immer gern gegangen. Ihre Musik einer fremden Feier-Crowd zu präsentieren, war aber eigentlich nicht der Plan.
 Als Mia Mangata aus diversen Gründen jenem Vergnügen eine Weile nicht mehr nachgehen konnte, wurde die Sehnsucht nach der Musik einfach zu groß und … schwupps, da stand auch schon das erste DJ-Equipment in den eigenen vier Wänden. 🤩
Kaum begonnen (2019), legte die gebürtige Frankfurterin einen echten Kickstart hin: direkt zu Beginn von “Jeden Tag ein Set” gefeatured, ist sie mittlerweile in Clubs wie dem KitKat, dem Ritter Butzke, dem Mensch Meier uvm. bekannt. Auch deutschlandweit sowie in den Niederlanden oder Polen, heizte sie ihrem Publikum bereits mit ihrem energetischen Sound ein. Dabei bewegen sich ihre Sets von Melodic Techno über Indie Dance bis hin zu Progressive House. Seit 2022 gibt es von ihr auch Techno à la 129 - 134 BPM unter dem Namen M² auf die Ohren. 

Wir freuen uns riesig, dass sie mit dabei ist und wünschen euch viel Spaß mit Mia Mangatas treibendem Set - unserer No.66 . 🥳

INTERVIEW

1. How would you describe your sound?
“Melodic Tech-House, sweet melodies paired with groove and love in detail, mostly made for the dancefloor.”

2. How did you learn producing?
Marcel: “Learning by doing. I bought a software at the age of 14, named ‘Techno Maker’ (laugh), to make first steps in the field of producing. To get an impression of how it works, to do a track. It wasn‘t as bad as it sounds. Experimenting and playing around is always a got method to learn and understand how things work. But before doing first complete tracks I was only djing. Later then I used Steinberg‘s ‘Nuendo’ and ‘Cubase’.”
Thomas: “After some years of djing I experimented with a ‘Yamaha RM1X’ Groovebox and a sampler from ‘BOSS’ in 1999. Later Software based producing.”

3. Favorite track at the moment/all time?
Marcel: “Difficult, because there are many good tracks out there, but one of my favorite tracks at the moment is ‘Stereocalypse - Arboria’; one of my alltime favorites: ‘Black Van - Inside (Oliver Remix)’.”
Thomas: “At the moment ‘Beyond’ by Frank Serin (Prosper Rek Remix), alltime favorite: ‘In The Night’ by Sivesgaard.”

4. Dream collab?
Marcel: ”Rodriguez Jr.”
Thomas: “Me myself and I in ten years.”

5. What keeps you going?
Marcel: “Joy of life, love for the music, head full of ideas.”
Thomas: “Family, music, sleep.”

6. What makes you laugh?
Marcel: “My son, dry sense of humour.”
Thomas: “An Irishman and an Englishman walk into a bakery. The Englishman steals 3 buns and puts them into his pockets and leaves. He says to the Irishman: ‘That took great skill and guile to steal those buns. The owner didn't even see me.’ The Irishman replied: ‘That's just simple thievery, I'll show you how to do it the honest way and get the same results.’ The Irishman then proceeded to call out the owner of the bakery and says: ‘Sir, I want to show you a magic trick.’ The owner was intrigued so he came over to see the magic trick. The Irishman asked him for a bun and then he proceeded to eat it. He asked 2 more times and after eating them again the owner says: ‘Okay my friend, where's the magic trick?’ The Irishman then said: ‘Look in the Englishman's Pockets.’“

7. What do you listen to besides electronic music?
Marcel: “80s Stuff, Soul, Funk, German Hip Hop, Pop music.”
Thomas: “80s, Oldies, Soul.”

8. What distinguishes you and your music from other artists?
“People say, we have a unique feature in our music, a unique sound. That‘s important today, to make something different to others, as a huge amount of music is published everyday.”

9. Most exciting club moment?
“Sisyphos Berlin, October 2015, playing the wintergarden, we started with the first tune, people poured in and celebrated with us as no one was watching, without any break and totally lost in music.”

10. Who will considerably give direction to the scene soon?
“Acts like ‘Township Rebellion’ and ‘Hidden Empire’ for example. High Quality productions, mostly peaktime tracks with a unique style and well done arrangements.”

11. DAW?
“Cubase”

12. Where would you love to play live?
“Kazantip, Ibiza”

13. What do you think about DIT KLINGT JUT?
“Nice guys. Great idea of featuring artists, without making a difference regarding their fame. Only focused on their music and individual sound.”

14. What makes dance music so special to you?
“Thousands of memories and good moments - a possibility to give emotions and feelings a face.”

15. Next release?
“‘SPIKE THE PUNCH EP’ on Parquet Recordings out on the 12th of june incl. Remixes by ‘Hidden Empire’ and ‘Rauschhaus’.”

16. What you can’t stand?
Marcel: “Coffee”
Thomas: “Sandwiches”
