My favorite part of this production: Writing the arrangement for the bass was a unique challenge. Performing the parts was equally challenging.

A sample of my production and recording technique. This recording was done for a client. Vocals and guitars were performed by the client. Drums were performed by my usual drummer. Bass was performed by me. 

My favorite part of this production: The client wanted an ethereal sound on the vocals at the end of the song. I had him sing the same part at three distances from the mic. I then mixed them together to get a unique sound. Finally, I applied some reverb and automated the wetness setting to get the sound we were looking for.

A sample of my production and recording technique. This recording was done for a client. Guitar and vocals were performed by the client.

My favorite part of this production: I can't limit myself to one favorite on this recording. First, I was very satisfied when the phase relationship between the microphones was set perfectly without tweaking. I was equally pleased when the client was able to produce a fabulous performance in one take. The final icing on the cake was provided on accident by my wife. During the last section of the song, there is a "shaker" that locks in with the timing of the guitar. I was worried about having to scrap the take, but the client liked it and preferred to keep it. He felt it added a little something special to the song.

A live recording of a public speaking event. I used a lapel mic for the speaker and two mics on the room in a stereo configuration.

My favorite part of this production: I was very pleased with how well the stereo room mics performed in this situation.
