This duo of two friends — 
Denis Rublev and Tony Werk, who met in New York back in 2012, started their creative journey from that moment on. 

Each of them brought about 20+ years of experience as DJs, and they decided to blend their unique backgrounds — one from New York and the other from Moscow — into one collective, focusing on electronic music. 

So, they decided to name themselves “Department 57”, reflecting their unique blend of experiences and influences.
