This was my first full length LP originally released in 2008 via Goon Trax records and once again digitally in 2010 by Digi Crates records. I guess enough people did not know about it because people have been rediscovering it as of late. There is a lot of craziness behind this LP from meeting a cool new crew of friends, to a mysterious stolen hard drive. Looking back it's worth the rediscovery so I packed in a couple of extras and all the lyrics to the LP are available as well. If you can spare a couple of bucks that would be awesome, if not just spread the word so people know about the underground classic. If you happen to come across a Still Got Love Maxi single hit me up, mine is scratched.

The song deals with the task of maintaining a relationship while perusing his own dreams. He exposes his own flaws while pointing out the positive aspects of his lady. While this track may seem like a typical and smug ode to the opposite sex, it is quite deceptive in its own right. This song is developed with the streets in mind. Henry Canyon's album "Canyonland" was originally released on bandcamp something like a year ago without any distribution behind it and we felt it was painfully unnoticed. So all in all a perfect contender for a Jakarta Dubplate. It was entirely produced by French producer Keor Meteor.

Canyonland is a conceptual album that revolves around Henry Canyons' journey to Los Angeles, his struggle to adjust to a new life there, his coming to terms and attempts to keep a solid connection with his identity as a "half-French, Jewish Brooklynite" that has been transplanted into a place that is wildly different from what he was used to. It also outlines his efforts to solidify his personal and professional spheres, his romantic ups and downs and his perspective on Los Angeles life in general. Musically-speaking, this album is a much smoother ride than the topic itself betrays. Henry's baritone voice glides effortlessly over a beautiful, West-Coast boom-bap backdrop (produced by Keor Meteor), riding the tempo with technically proficient flow and great lyrics. Zoe Rose, a very talented, jazzy and soulful singer/songrwiter, makes several appearances throughout, lending her silky-smooth voice to many of the choruses. Freddy Jay provides some funky vinyl cuts on others. Open Mike Eagle also makes an appearance, lending a great guest-verse. Overall, Canyonland is a great album for both casual listeners who want something they can easily throw on in the car for a relaxing listen or more hardcore listeners who like to dig into the lyrics and think about what a rapper is conveying.

Remixed by Hiro aka Melodiverse  the main producer for Japan's Progress + Nude + Crew. He started off as a web designer and eventually began remixing and producing hip hop tracks. Hiro has gone on to produce original songs for the 49ers and Funky DL. P + N + C's Remix Artworks Mix III album will be dropping in January with remixed songs from Awon, Funky DL, EPMD, Nas, Xzibit, The Beatnuts, Q-Tip, and a host of other hip hop legends.
The Progress + Nude + Crew consists of Hiro aka Melodiverse, DJ Ryo aka Questello, and MC VELENTino.
