Terence McKenna on conspiracy theory

On a balmy summers eve in February of 1997, I first met Terence McKenna over dinner in a dodgy pizzeria on the notorious nightclub strip of the Fortitude Valley. Only hours later I would mix a spontaneous soundscape for Terence as he delivered an improv spiel to an intimate audience at The Zoo in Brisbane. This file is produced from the soundesk DAT recording, mastered by Pip Theobald. It remained dormant for several years and was only recently digitised- as it took so long to find a functioning DAT player. Some noise and clicks arise from the aged tape, other glitches and abberations are less explicable...Machine Elves? I hope to edit, enhance and remaster later this year.

Aside from vinyl and CDs being mixed to create the soundscape, compositions fresh from the studio of The ApeMan (Stuart Burgess) arrived as the event was underway. Several channels were woven as an ambient landscape for Terence to traverse, leading all present on a collective journey. The current raw edit is not for distribution, I hope that it can be remastered and fused with visuals so that the message can be projected to others.
