The Department of Continual Decay is the musical moniker of one Mike Carlson. It started in 1987 with various lo-fi home recordings, continued into tracker and computer tools in the mid-'90s, and has been almost entirely laptop-based since the early 2000s.

Electronic synthesis and sound experimentation are my thing, with a heavy dose of rhythmic influence from genres ranging across pop, industrial, electro, and techno. Experimentation and creativity are more important to me than into which little compartment the things I make can be crammed.
