Hi we are Layer Cake – the band you didn’t see coming like that dollop of tomato sauce in Paul Kelly’s gravy recipe.

Our debut self titled EP to be released at the beginning of 2019 was produced, engineered and recorded by Matt Redlich (ball park music/ holy holy/emma louise), at Head Gap Studios and the Aviary in Melbourne.

What came out has been compared to indie rock favourites such as The Strokes, Vampire Weekend and The Kooks – however you can compare us to whoever you like, as long as they are incredibly more successful than us and we can live vicariously through an over fluffed complimentary comparison.

Following the release of our explosive debut self-acclaimed smash hit single, Keep Me Awake, we have been met with an overwhelmingly positive response and managed to pack Lefty's Old Time Music Hall (250 capacity venue) like a can of sardines for our very first show.

« Play fast and have fun ! » that could be the motto of DEPUTIES. Since their start in 2012, the four Parisians have combined pop melodies and rock rhythms with their infectious energy. Their spirit ? Imaging partying in Paris during summer time, mojito glasses in hand.

Hedonistic during day time, DEPUTIES give it all on stage. Not really the type to look at their shoes, the four Parisians bet on their energy and refreshing sound to catch the crowd and it works!

In 2016 Sharif (singer), Thomas (guitar), Richard (bass) and Baptiste (drums) are promising new songs, a crazy tour, and a much-awaited third EP. No doubt that in the meantime they won’t forget to hold their eternal promise: to make the girls dance!
