on march 14, 2024, i made the decision to start my own radio show. it was an idea that i had for a while which went through multiple changes before actually existing, including changing the idea to being a podcast, doing only live events with no radio mixes, and almost scrapping the idea completely.

on march 15, 2024, a day late that i initially intended, i uploaded the first culdesac mix onto this channel (https://soundcloud.com/ontheculdesac/episode1). now we are one year deep and we've had some amazing guest DJs on, we've done 3 live events, and have our own mixtape series with some of our favorite artists.

I heard the original song with Baby and Thug getting a “404” tatt at my niece’s boyfriend's crib and I loved it. The flow reminded me of early 2000s Roscoe Dash ‘Show Out’ which was one of my favorite songs growin’ up. I wanted to make a song titled Saltwater so bad because I heard that they used to call enslaved Africans in the US ‘saltwater Africans’. Our ancestral connection to the Atlantic Ocean is so deep and with my near-death experience at Impanema Beach in Brazil, it opened my eyes to the sheer power and divinity of it. She is our mother.
