An Icy Chill

This is just two instruments and one effects unit. The metallic and rhythmic pulses are from the Analogue Solutions Impulse Command. I’m feeding the square wave into overall pitch for the VCOs. 

The drone is coming from the new RA-99 Grendel Grenadier from Rare Waves. I’m making use of its suboscillator. This is routed through a Dreadbox Hypnosis and I’m using some of all three effects (Chorus/Delay/Reverb). 

A KeyStep Pro is what I’m playing (proudly left-handed as I’m not very good with my left-hand); it is using CV/Gate/Mod to play the RA-99 and changes in the root note on the Impulse Command over MIDI. I want to add some simple percussion and I think I’ll have something very much like an instrumental Depeche Mode tune...

Alien Grenadier Command

This is a pseudo industrial song with an uptempo march-like beat. I created this to play as my son and others that graduated in 2020 in the area did a motorcade through the neighborhood.

The primary industrial beat is an Analogue Solutions Impulse Command. Some additional drum beats (mostly in the beginning) come from a Sismo Samba. The lead comes from the Rare Waves Hydronium and I add in some flanger for additional effect from a Dreadbox Komorebi. The crashing sound is from a Rackit Metal and is triggered from the Samba, though I pass the trigger through a Mutable Instruments Branches and set the probability to play about 60%-70% of the time. I also augment the effects some with a Dreadbox Hypnosis for Delay and Reverb. The Impulse Command is using its own spectacular effects engine.

Mechanical Graduation March

This is a track where I was starting to mess around using my Analogue Solutions Impulse Command (playing the higher pitched electronic rhythm), a Korg Volca Beats, and a Pittsburgh Modular Microvolt 3900(doing the bass) sequenced by a Korg SQ-1  and the active steps manipulated some in realtime. I'm using the onboard sequencer of the Impulse Command.

It's got some background noise as this was recorded with my iPhone mic; I hadn't gotten my Roland Go:Mixer Pro yet. :-( Decided to upload it though as it has a nice rhythm - I may return to something like this in the future.

Tribal Bot

This is a backing melodic track I created on the subharmnicon. I created the changing intervals by turning on and off a couple of the suboscillators being sequenced. (I used both oscillators and 3 suboscillators.) It feels like something from The Who, hence the name.

Just an evil sounding bassline sequenced on the eoWave Quandrantid Swarm. I might do something with this....

The Doom Of The Swarm

Just a track where I experiment with different suboscillators being added in to follow the sequence as well as adding in a few polyrhythms.

Musix Bot

A tune created with a Volca Beats, Volca Drum, Analogue Solutions Fusebox, Moog Subharmonicon, Rare Waves Grendel Grenadier RA-99, Dreadbox Typhon, and a Dreadbox Hypnosis. I’m using the ST Workbench LFO to mod the Pulse Width of the Subharmonicon’s first VCO and I add in a second rhythm to give a feeling of maelstrom allowing the tune as it develops  to have two distinct passages. I’m using the Apollon preset on the Typhon. That reverb goes on forever...

This is still very much in rehearsal phase for eventual live play. The Moog’s filter and volume knobs really adjust the volume a lot with very little travel, so I find it tricky. At one point I accidentally nudged the volume knob and it dropped off almost to zero.
