"I recently received an incredible gift from the Universe where I was invited to join a ceremony involving plant medicine to assist in healing and nurturing my soul.
Upon returning from the astral and landing softly back to ground I was compelled to create this set.  
 
When I played back the recording to myself it became very clear that I had recreated my experience from the night before using sound. Love, fear, light, darkness and deep compassion poured through me in that ceremony and now that journey resonates here in The Butterfly In The Room.
 
Special thanks to Ramya Flo for transcending us with her beautiful guided meditation, taken from her Season’s of Women Workshop + featured within this set.

https://soundcloud.com/francescamackay is back with Architextures, this month bringing you 2 hours of music inspired by AfriCOBRA, and the AACM (Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians), a still-flourishing organisation of primarily African American Chicago musicians whose interdisciplinary explorations expanded the boundaries of jazz.

AfriCOBRA was a Chicago-based group of black artists whose shared aim was to develop their own aesthetic in the visual arts to empower black communities. Rather than bringing about change through political revolt, these artists used the black identity, its style, attitude and worldview to foster solidarity and self-confidence throughout the African diaspora.

This month's show includes music from AACM members Wadada Leo Smith, Muhal Richard Adams and Tomeka Reid and Jeff Parker, and is inspired by the intertwined legacy, style and ethos of the sounds and visual art of both collectives.

On we go in the guest series and this week sees the turn of Brazilian based DJ and Producer Fernando Ribeiro AKA Intrip. 
Fernando has a real passion for deep music and you can hear this passion shine through on his own musical productions and DJ sets.     He also runs the excellent Subchord label (which I am proud to be part of!) which showcases new DJ sets and has also just released their first compilation which is well worth checking out. 
For this set, Fernando delivers the deep goodness yet again and drops some real nice tunes featuring among others, music on his own Subchord label and from the man himself.
