Deep inside the scorched forest of Mount Parnitha, the abandoned Athenian Sanatorium emerges from the shadows like a ghost, telling its own story.

Mysterious symbols cover the walls of the ruined building as remnants of a past haunted by illness, blood, pain, death and metaphysical activity.
 
Built back in 1912 as a terminal illness facility, it became a purgatory of souls , which “hosted” many of the 120000 who died of tuberculosis in Greece.

Although visiting the place is not entirely safe, it still attracts all sorts of "guests", usually after the sun sets behind the mountain.

Dark myths and legends surround the run-down Sanatorium: several reports about ghost voices, sightings of shadows dragging themselves through the empty hallways and Satanists holding mystic ceremonies.

A century after the Sanatorium’s establishment, The “Park of the Souls” made its appearance. Burnt tree trunks found on the premise transformed into sculptures depicting the horror of the Sanatorium inmates.

VA Flores Venenum is a compilation with dark experimental sounds and brings women producers together from different sides of the world, will release by Metacortex Records.

Flores Venenum means poisonous flowers and the title of each track on the album has been chosen from the poisonous flowers around the world. Flores Venenum name is quite meaningful for us with regards to the challenges women went throughout the history, to gain independence as an individual, as well as to realize and value existence of oneself. Spiritual and emotional abilities of women have been unrecognized for ages and their physical abilities have been unfairly decided to be lesser then men. Such abilities have been realized during the witch-hunts of Middle Ages where thousands of innocent women remorselessly massacred.

Since the first sin in the story of Adam & Eve, which is among the oldest myths known, the women have been associated with the devil due to their complicated nature, miraculous fertility and hysterical psyche, and stigmatized for being sinful and perilous.Women are equally significant as the men in the fabric of existence, which in fact is still a mystery, have been seen as an inferior gender throughout the history, in addition to misinterpretation of many religious books and texts, many myths and stories such as God creating the woman after the man have led to the women, who are actually one of the genders that ensure sustainability of existence and complete each other, being polarized even further throughout the centuries.
During the past centuries, when humankind’s understanding and abilities had been developing in a faster pace, only men were given right to get education, while women went through hardship similar to slaves and were deprived of education that would improve their knowledge and abilities. Dark shadows of such ages, where a statement or a decision of a women disregarded and overlooked, are still on our tail. It will not be easy to decode these notions which are now deeply rooted in societies’ culture, perception and lifestyle, even though a new order has come to our country with Ataturk and the Republic that offers equal rights to women. In some eastern countries, women are still being alienated as in the past, living with lesser rights then men.
Even in the 20th century which we describe as “modern”, despite the ignorant perspective of patriarchy, a paradigm shift is about to be brought only by women of modern countries and cities where they were able to raise their voices, make their own choices and improve themselves.

Women fertility actually symbolizes nature's creativity. Untold and forgotten history of matriarchal societies’ harmonious life with nature would astonish a modern human as much as it would do to a caveman. We might have long forgotten once shamans were women , considering the emotional and instinctual nature of Motherhood, spiritually powerful and considerably intelligent women might be a magical key for the universal peace and unity.Abilities and spiritual powers of women may have been unearthed now in 2020.
Women are on the move in music sector as in every area and from now on they are uniting to evoke universal equality.
Poisonous Flowers screams out the violence and malice over women throughout the history uttering the darkest possible experimental sounds in remembrance of women who were tormented just for being born as a female, WE ARE HERE!
