The project Xochi'Balam was born in 2015 after Xochipilli and Cali'Balam met in several parties and begin to produce their first tracks together. They immediately realised that both their styles combined perfectly and decided to take their collaborations a step further, thus creating the duo, 
Xochi'Balam. 

Since then they have written quite a few tracks together and have been able to present their project live on numerous occasions, each one of them a unique ritual, where the two transmit their ideas between nature and ancestral sounds,loaded with psychedelia. 
Their Mayan roots at the forefront of their sound. 

Xibalba is the story of Hunahpú and Ixbalanque, as they go to Xibalba (the underworld) but yet they return to be amongst the living once again. 

The album reflects their journey from their entrance - Entrando al Xibalba to their exit - Saliendo del Xibalba !

In Latin, Meta is a prefix that brings the meaning of self and beyond to any word its added to. Along with the style of music, Core actually means seed and center. Metamorphosis of the center should be considered as re-forming the values we have and creating a new way of perception. Along with an improving technology, the era we live in makes impossible to discover self and to polish and share our creativity with all its wrong points of view, lifestyles and systems. 
To meet with our essence (core), understand the self and look beyond it (meta), cleanse from egos and discover the beyond-core (MetaCore) will allow a new point of view and a new way of living in between of this chaotic set-up.

Operation Midnight Climax compiled by Grainripper. With the
combination of different rhythms, patterns, styles, and, speed you
get a full pack of the Darkpsy experimental experience. To
understand how the roots of the psychedelic movement were
implanted for the first time in our culture, we invite you to take a
deeper look at the story behind Operation Midnight Climax.
Operation Midnight Climax is a top-secret mind-control program, in
which CIA operatives began dosing civilians with hallucinogenic drugs
to study the effects of LSD on unconsenting individuals. In the mid50s, CIA agents were assigned to run two “safe houses” for LSD
testing in Ney York & San Francisco. They distributed LSD, knockout
drops, and marijuana to the “guests” using food, drinks, and
cigarettes. Sex workers on the CIA payroll were used to lure clients to
the safehouses where they were secretly given a wide range of
hallucinogenic drugs. After 14 years of an Ex-CIA, agent wrote a
report about Operation Midnight Climax.
“It would become supreme irony that the CIA’s enormous search for
weapons among drugs would wind up helping to create the
wandering, uncontrollable minds of the counterculture."
