DERAJAH, an artist comin’ from Kingston and member of « Inna De Yard », met the DONKEY JAW BONE band in December 2007, while they were looking for an outstanding jamaican voice.

The band, who has his own studio near from Paris, only produces artists with whom a real musical alchimi has occurred.

And that’s what happened with DERAJAH.

Derajah has this kind of mesmerizing voice, both authentic and tinted of the most modern accents in actual Jamaican music.

But the roots is still there, reassured by DONKEY JAW BONE’s experience, who doesn’t leave anything to the modernity of nowadays sounds, but at the contrary,preserve this roots-rock -reggae vibe, wich is typical of reggae's golden year in the 70s.

As the album has been recorded at Wendo Guenet's vintage studio, you won't find any electronic or numeric sounds in their music which will surely remind you Jacky Mittoo or Rico Rodriguez ones.


DERAJAH, artiste originaire de Kingston et membre du collectif "Inna De Yard", a fait en Décembre 2007 la rencontre du groupe DONKEY JAW BONE, alors en recherche d'une voix jamaïcaine qui sortait de l'ordinaire.

Le groupe, qui possède son propre studio en région parisienne produit uniquement les artistes avec lesquels une réelle alchimie musicale s'est manifestée.

Ce qui fut le cas avec DERAJAH.

DERAJAH possède cette voix envoutante à la fois authentique et teintée des accents plus modernes de la musique Jamaïcaine actuelle.

Mais le roots est bien là, fort de l'expérience du groupe DONKEY JAW BONE, qui ne concède rien à la modernité des sons d'aujourd'hui mais au contraire entretient cette vibe roots-rock-reggae, qui caractérisait l'âge d'or du reggae dans les années 70.

L'album ayant été enregistré à WENDO GUENET PRODUCTIONS , studio vintage, il n'y a aucun son électronique ni numérique dans leur musique qui n'est pas sans rappeler celle de Jacky Mittoo ou de Rico Rodriguez.
