About this journey :
In the technocratic world of today, with its hierarchical systems, mainstream social paradigms, stressful environments, prevailing fear of uncertainty and survival strategies of the mind, exercising self-awareness, raising own frequencies and establishing a deep connection with our Inner Selves have become new priorities on our way towards restoring balance and fulfilling our life potential. Everything inside and around us, be that specific qualities of our mind, creative talents, moments of inspiration, emotional waves, the location we were born or live in, people and objects we interact with, jobs and hobbies we choose, etc., represent a variety of resources that are always near us and available, and all we need to do is to look within ourselves in order to find what we need. Individual evolution, self-actualization and raising own vibrations through creative expression, personal fulfilment and surrendering to the flow of life have taken over from the outdated strategies of survival and struggle – we now all live in the world where the impossible has become possible, pure intentions are winning over forced choices, desires and fears, openness, kindness and creative mindset are setting a new standard in society. As long as we are able to keep our focus and recognize resources within ourselves, and less on the outside, we will be able to live and enjoy the life, co-create and express our potential notwithstanding any circumstances, situations or global events.
With its transcendental and dreamy vibe this groovy and melodic downtempo set is an attempt to convey the idea of abundance of life with its diversity of experiences, resources and forms of expression all existing and evolving in a harmonious ensemble.

A producer of meditative and visionary music journeys, Andre Mayborn experiments with ethnic and melodic downtempo sounds which he forms into hypnotic musical novels boasting immersive storytelling and gently crafted transitions which are often guiding one's imagination through mysterious times and places, triggering deep emotions and thoughts, inspiring relaxation and inner connection. Every journey and each performance is an aesthetic interpretation of diverse cultural repercussions with their sacred messages seen from a contemporary perspective.

Andre is a co-founder and resident at AnimaTerra Festival, a global initiative and platform for self-expression which is aimed to promote multicultural electronic/world music, flow and visual arts through engaging creative communities and musical talents all around the world.

love is love podcast no 80 by MeToBe

This set means a lot to me. It was the opening performance for the new year's celebration at Eagle's Nest in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. The event was put together by the beautiful Octave Collective (thanks @karlimusik) and gathered some of my best friends from around the world. 

For this end of year, I had just come from processing a difficult time with my mom's health, and wanted to deliver a musical experience that celebrated her. For this reason, notice the two audio clips at the beginning and end of the set. The first, an invocation to teachers in our life called Sri Guru Pranam. My mom has taught me so much, and I dedicate my creative expression to her. It reads:

"I offer my respectful obeisances unto my spiritual master, who has opened my eyes, which were blinded by the darkness of ignorance, with the torchlight of knowledge."

The last track is a song I would play to her at the hospital. It's one of the most beautiful songs I know. It records the musical collaborations of cellist David Darling with the Wulu Bunun tribes of Taiwan. The song gives me hope of a better future, and always puts a smile on my face. 

Right before it, the second audio sample is a voice note I received the day before I last visited my mom back in Colombia. May this year carry her voice, and all of ours, together forward.

𝗜 𝗔𝗠 𝗕𝗢𝗛𝗢 - Inner Sense by ARTYDAL

This extraordinary summer solstice I had the great honour of playing Ecstatic Dance Brighton, my birth-town for what ended up being the highest attended outdoor ecstatic dance the country has ever seen, with 230 ticket holders sharing their love of nature, the sun and music, in delicious community!  

This set drew from a recent favourite at my Hackney Evening Sessions, and built on that, with a slow drum based buildup, shifting into tropical sounds and then a beautiful and intellectual throwback to the music that sent me on my way, during my Brighton clubbing days in the late 90's & early 2000's at The Honey Club, Zap & Beach Club, as they were all then known! And then a load more in the second wave, so buckle up! 

We hope you enjoy this set as much as the community did up on Devils Dyke. It was a wild ride!

Derek Beres is a multi-faceted author, speaker, and podcaster based in Portland, Oregon. He has served in senior editorial positions at a number of tech companies and has years of experience in health, science, and music writing. He regularly speaks on science and media literacy. Derek is the co-host of the Conspirituality podcast.

Alongside David ‘Duke Mushroom’ Schommer, Derek is one-half of EarthRise SoundSystem, which has released three albums and four EPs. Derek has produced records for Six Degrees Records and Vieux Farka Toure. He toured internationally with GlobeSonic and was a regular guest at the legendary Turntables on the Hudson parties and resident DJ of Kollektiv with Karsh Kale. He has performed alongside Jamiroquai, Ojos De Brujo, Sidestepper, Brazilian Girls, Yerba Buena, Antibalas, Cheb i Sabbah, and more. He served as music supervisor for the breakthrough documentary, DMT: The Spirit Molecule, and is the co-host of the podcast, Conspirituality.
