Would you kill for love? (plastic glass remix feat. Vivienne Thomet)

Original demo of ‘It’s Not My Fault’ – recorded in 1991 in Sun Studios with Aiden Foley. The song was later re-recorded with Gil Norton in Britannia Row studios (owned by Nick Mason from Pink Floyd). The song became the opening track on 'A Map Of The Universe By Blink'. Memories from the recording include Blink roadie Arrington Sexworth bringing christmas presents into the UK on our tour bus, which we lovingly referred to as ‘The Connie’, hidden inside a miniature Christmas Tree beside the drivers seat. The tree was lovely, it was about 10” tall and had little flashing lights on it, along with a picture of band member Robbie Sexton on top as the angel. Later the song would be centre of a very long drawn out court case with old friends The Cranberries. The case was settled to Blink's satisfaction after 7 years.

It's Not My fault (original demo)1991

This is the original demo that created a whole frenzy of Record Company activity in the summer of 1991. The song was actually recorded in 1990 by Rex & Dino (Dermot Lambert, Brian McLoughlin, Barry Campbell and Ellen Leahy) - just before the band finished. In the summer of 1991 the song was included on a CD compilation of Irish artists called Music From Ireland. The band didn't exist anymore, but we decided it would good to 'have a go' anyway, and throw the song on - Barry came up with a new band name 'Blink' - a review in Music Week sparked a chaotic series of phone calls from A&R people in the UK and USA, and we found ourselves back in rehearsing and trying to write songs - but all we could manage was Cello, It's Not My Fault, Is God Really Groovy and Going To Nepal. Somewhere in the middle of that summer we robbed Robbie from Picturehouse so he could play triangle, tambourine and the tricky keyboard bits. Then we got rich and famous. The End.

Blink 1993 - Cello Ambient Mix

The Boy In The Bookshop (1996) is the story of a boy whose only interaction with the world is through reading stories about a superhero. He's afraid to keep reading the books because he's afraid if the hero ever dies in the books then he (the boy)will have no friends in the world. Meanwhile the superhero is looking out for the boy from inside his world. We set the whole thing to a lovely chord structure that Robbie created, and borrowed some oul fellas for the middle piece. Never released previously.

A Planet Made Of Rain started out life on Robbie's Cubase, and was originally called Cubana Guitars, it was used on an RTE television show called Popscene as the opening credits, and then was given a nice set of lyrics about the world being a terrible place altogether. Billboard Magazine loved it, and we used to love jumping around the place with all of our guitars turned up to a million playing 'D' - the whole song is 'D' - This mix was never released and is pure mental - recommending turning it up to about a million.

Songwriter and singer - Over the past 30 years I've written and recorded a lot of material with various bands and just as myself. Some have been very successful commercially, but they're all my babies and I love them all equally mostly. Smiley Face.
I've also produced a  number of artists, and designed some very cool music programmes for musicians, young and old.
