A Fabled Waltz

Without Body is a piece which is played without the body of the flute. The head joint and the foot joint of the flute are put together. They most likely will not fit together perfectly but this is okay, it allows a more airy tone which is part of the piece.

Without Body Mixed

Dance of the Winds is a flute trio based mainly in 5/8. It provides a simple but fun melody that is passed between all three players above a light bubbly pulse. The end of the piece uses many fun extended techniques for flute which can be passed between all three players. Jet Whistles, Bending, Flutter Tongue, and playing with just the head joint of the flute are all used. This piece is perfect as a great introduction to 5/8 and (easy) extended techniques for young players and provides ample opportunity for musical growth for experienced players as well.
