Kevin Saunderson, one of Detroit techno`s founding fathers and an inspirational DJ who can lift a crowd with anything from hard techno to slick, funky house, enhances the X-Mix series with a Transmission from Deep Space Radio.
Deep Space Radio was a mid 90`s show on Detroit`s WGPR 107.5, coceived by Juan Atkins and aiming to showcase cutting edge dance music in a way no radio station has ever done before or since. Kevin Saunderson was one of the many influental DJ`s who contributed regular mixes.
Using turntable techniques augmented by edits and other studio magic, Kevin Saunderson`s X-Mix recaptures the excitement of a classic Deep Space Radio show, while remaining musically close to his enthralling live set.

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

These people have clearly never heard of Rolando aka Rolando Rocha aka The Aztec Mystic, we could go on and on but Roland is the real deal. An integral part of Techno activists Underground Resistance Rolando is a bona fide Detroit OG and given he done his own thing when UR were at the height of their powers shows a true sense of self and mega set of morals.

What was Detroit’s loss is most definitely Scotland’s gain and this mix is just one of the many reasons why…
