Woo York - supreme electronic music duo make their debut on Watergate Records.

The Ukrainian duo have a watertight reputation for crafting stunning dancefloor compositions, having released music on Life And Death, Soma, Dystopian, Drumcode and Afterlife, the latter home to their critically acclaimed 2018 album ‘Chasing the Dream’. Their appearances at Watergate have been numerous over the years, making them an obvious choice to join the label family.

Their Watergate Records debut maiden offering is sparkling. The title track begins as a chugging key-laden cut before a stirring folky melody rises to the fore with beautiful intent. With its unique sonic signature, ‘Samum’ will stand out in any set. Woo York show a new side of their outstanding musical talent “For this release we wanted to push boundaries of the melodic techno sound. For Samum we have worked with a bag pipe, one of the oldest instruments to give the track an almost „housy" note.”

The accompanier is ‘Prophet’, an emotional slice of dance music, hopeful and melancholic in equal doses, this is custom made for big dancefloor moments.

Accompanying the package are remixes of ‘Samum’ by fellow Ukrainian producer and live act 8Kays, who turns in a dark and shimmering re-rub, not losing any of the original’s power. Meanwhile Greek artist Echonomist crafts a rich and multi-faceted reinterpretation that fits for the club and home listening alike.

Melodic tech house shaper Moe Danger teams up with Belgian producer Bigasti for the fifth installment of Kuukou, bringing forth a ticking techno banger and three reworks.

Club-focussed heaters are only a part of musical development. Sometimes you need to catch also the strings and melodies of a certain moment. From silence to wild nature noises, from sunshine to deep and dark winter mood. You are coming home with a melody in your head and you find peace in some hard and techy sounds coming in and bringing movement for your blood. Diverse like life, thats Mononoid's first longplayer.

"Elf" is the first track creating a spacious atmosphere were you can loose yourself in, but still keeps you on the right track. "Anna" is intense and wide open, without loosing the trippy character. "Monorus" is full of magic with it's hard switch and it's spacey flair.A walk through an unreal world brings the track "Parks and Gardens" - a blues guiding you to a place in between where the clouds open up.

With our dear friend Beatamines the dutch duo created "Yotta" which is a very techy track for the late night in the club. "Take steps" will bring you home finally with a bag full of new ideas and sounds. Enjoy this beautiful trip and don't get lost on the way - how the guys described it together with Amy White.

Das schöne Tal um Gut Haarbecke war dieses Jahr zum dritten Mal der wunderschöne Ort für das Katzensprung Festival. Neben den anderen auch sehr feinen Floors, hat es mir aber definitiv der kleine schnuckelige am höchsten Punkt des Festivals gelegene Lafari-Floor angetan. Schattig in den Waldrand integriert, hat dort das Lafari Kollektiv aus Köln ein wunderschönes großes Wohnzimmer mit umwerfend fantastischen Sound entstehen lassen. Hören, sehen, lieben, trinken, lachen, tanzen, unterhalten, schwelgen, schweigen, treffen und wiederfinden … hier war alles mit so einer Leichtigkeit möglich. 

Wer und was ist eigentlich das Lafari Kollektiv? Dies ist auch wieder so eine Geschichte die nur die Musik zustande bringet ;-)

„Lafari nahm seinen Anfang bei uns im Garten, wo wir die ersten Partys feierten. Aus dem Spaß und der Freude heraus ein (musikalisches) Fest für Freunde zu veranstalten, entstand der Wunsch ans Universum dies auch in einem größeren Rahmen zu tun.

Amon (feines tier) lockte uns aus dem Garten und ebnete den Weg für die Zebras auf großer Wiese grasen zu dürfen, also packten wir unseren Krempel und machten uns auf zum Katzensprung. Dieses Jahr haben wir zum zweiten Mal den eigenen Floor gestaltet.

Und das mit der gleichen Grundvoraussetzung, die Zuhause galt: Eine Atmosphäre für Menschen zu schaffen, die friedlich und liebevoll miteinander umgehen, eine Einheit zu schaffen aus dem Gefühl heraus nichts mehr zu tun als zu fühlen…“

Steve Bonde ist einer der Gründer des Lafari Kollektiv und ein bunter Hund in der Kölner Szene. Neben seiner Leidenschaft als DJ hat er sich auch mit diversen Edit`s und Produktionen schon einen Namen gemacht … hier sei z.B. der Whitney Houston Disco Klassiker „My Love is your Love“ zu nennen der auf SC ganz schön durch die Decke ging. 

Und so einen Lafari Floor zu organisieren kann ganz schön anstrengend sein und da kann es dann schon mal passieren das man sein so liebevoll geplantes Set das man auf dem eigenen Floor spielen wollte einfach ausfallen lassen muss … ganz nach dem Motto „man kann nicht alles haben im Leben“ … aber man kann versuchen alles zu geben ;-) – aber Steve hat das Set dann nochmal mit viel Liebe eingespielt und mich gefragt ob ich es nicht evtl. über meine Reihe veröffentlichen will. Da musste ich natürlich nicht lange überlegen und Steve es ist mir eine große Ehre diese Perle zu präsentieren.

Und nun liebe Hörer wünsch ich euch eine wunderschöne zweistündige Reise ins Lafari-Land und hier noch das schöne Lafari-Märchen das einmal mehr zeigt wieviel Liebe in diesem Kollektiv steckt.
"Erzähl mir von Lafari!" Sie schaute ihm sehnsüchtig in seine funkelnden Augen. Der Mond stand tief, irgendwo raschelte eine Fledermaus, sie schwiegen einen Moment. "Lafari", flüsterte er leise vor sich hin, "La - fa - ri". 

Er stand auf und zeigte auf das Meer aus glitzernden Sternen am Firmament. "Lafari ist überall", begann er zu erzählen, "in mir und in dir, in jedem Himmelskörper, jedem Grashalm und jedem Vogel da draußen. Lafari ist der Ort, an dem du zuhause bist, an dem die Sehnsucht aufhört und du dich einfach niederlegen kannst, eins wirst mit allem um dich herum, ganz mit der Natur verwoben, dein Geist wird still und dein Herz wird weit. Lafari ist das freie Land der Fantasie, Ort tiefer Hingabe an den Moment, Schnittstelle zwischen Traum und Wirklichkeit, das ewige Sinnbild für Liebe. In Lafari hört die Musik nie auf zu spielen und der Tag ist so lang oder so kurz, wie du es willst, alles ist möglich. Öffne einfach deine Augen oder schließe sie, es spielt keine Rolle, wichtig ist immer nur das Gefühl."
