The Marxification of Education Workshop, Session 1 

Education has been stolen from us and from our children. Yes, stolen. It was deliberately transformed from within into something that is barely education at all anymore. Instead, it's a systematic program of thought reform (brainwashing) into neo-Marxist belief and activism. How has this been accomplished? The formal name for the transformation is "the critical turn in education," which "turned" education from traditional models of pedagogy to "Critical Pedagogy," the application and teaching of Critical Theory to and through the education system. Its purpose: to overcome what Marxists refer to as "the problem of reproduction," by which stable societies reproduce themselves from one generation to the next, especially through institutions involving children like religion, family, media, and especially education. Here, New Discourses Founder James Lindsay summarizes this "turn" in this first of four presentations on the Marxification of Education delivered in late July 2022 in Arlington, Virginia, on location in the now-famous Loudoun County, ground zero for the fight for America's schools.

I apologize for the lack of professionalism on the pianist's part (myself, haha). This was recorded on an upright piano in a narrow room next to a wooden staircase. I had to pull the piano away from the wall and undress it (hohoho) so I got to see a full view of its innards (which led me to fix that middle pedal that brings the felt down ~score!~). But no matter what I tried, nor where I placed the microphone (behind, above, close-up, pianist's head, inside) The piano's soundboard is ultimately stuck in a box, and I couldn't get a crisp sound (I'm not really sure that a crisp sound from a piano would sound as nice anyway... the box makes the sound rich, right?).

In the end, I settled with putting the microphone head beneath the keyboard, just above the floor, but this came at a price: You can hear the pedalling! >.<"
To add to my troubles, I have a really creaky (almost squeaky) piano chair which is in the perfect position to creak into the microphone (this combos well with my tendency to sway as I play the piano).

Ah well, for my first serious attempt at recording, not bad.

A song I made called "Lets Stay Young". Originally I wanted to name it "Playground Beat" because it gave me a vibe of acting young and playing in a playground with your friends, despite your age or society's frown or confusion. Its a song that urges you to never lose the child inside and to LAUGH EVERY DAY. I DO plan on singing to this as WELL as Balloon Party, hopefully summer, in which my good friend Tommy Patzius has made a SINGING version of this song (rather than a DANCE version). I hope you enjoy!

Hey all, My name is Destery Smith, I co-own and operate a YouTube Channel called DesandNate as well as another channel called Capndesdes.
I have always been interested in dabbling with music. From 9th grade, I was stuck in a graphic design class with a shiny new Apple computer in 2005. It came standard with Garageband, an amazing tool that helped me get started in my music making career. I knew my hunger for making music would not be satiated by a mediocre program, so I sought to get more knowledge. Thats when I ran across Propellerheads Reason. It helped me REALLY get started into making music.
Originally, Only making music that one would only hear in elevators, and then slowly progressing into:
House, Funk House, Disco House, Electro House, Dubstep, Trance, Hardstyle, Rap, etc.
I was so interested in the different uses of the program that I got immersed inside it, and now, instead of producing only one style of music, Have over 300 unfinished Tracks of different genres. 

On another note, also when in 9th grade, I stumbled across a CD from a friend. It was "The Postal Service - Give Up". The album was played nearly 20 times a day for me for a year straight. I became so obsessed that my goal was to be able to sing. Throughout literally 6 or 7 years, I have been proud to say that my voice is similar in very many ways to my singing inspiration, Ben Gibbard, Lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie, and the Postal Service. 

I would have to say a weakpoint in musical talent for me is Lyrics. I used to be quite good at writing them, and then since 10th grade, hit some sort of snag in almost all creative writing. So if any of you feel like creating lyrics for me, I am more then willing to share my thoughts and Instrumentals.

As of now, I am working on my first ever EP of my one man band: Stop! The Attack! In time, I hope to make it a great album, however now it is just instrumentals with empty lyrics and no vocals. Anyways, that was musical tale, I hope you all stay and follow me and hope you enjoy my music. Thank you!
