Pressure is the third EP from Parisian DJ and producer BJF (@djbjf). It follows Iridescent and Uprooted, released in 2020 and 2022. A key member of the collective, label, and media Couvre x Chefs, BJF has released original tracks on several record labels (Lowup, Egregore, XXIII, Sacrilejio Records, Météo ) and a bunch of thoughtful edits. His productions have been played on Boiler Room, NTS, Rinse FM, Rinse France, Hör, BBC, Reprezent, etc.

Just months after the acclaimed Uprooted, BJF is back on the label arm of Couvre x Chefs with an explosive three-track EP ready to sweat clubs and shake festivals. Entitled Pressure, this one reinforces the style of BJF which he refines release after release: resolutely club percussive titles, punctuated with characteristic ad-libs, increasingly (re)worked vocals, and sharp melodies. On the percussion side, the producer from Greater Paris finely selects cuts with precision and reassembles to the millimeter the most boiling rhythms from the four corners of the planet. The result is by nature unclassifiable - post club, hybrid club, or global club - but promises to make everyone agree on the dancefloors of Melbourne to Saõ Paulo via Paris or Berlin.

One year after his 3rd EP "Pressure", @djbjf returns on CxC for his 4th EP called ‘’Sirens”. This 3-track EP was made with the same recipe as his previous bangers: heavy drums, minimalist cold melodies and chopped vocals. It showcases Miami bass influences in ‘’Voltage’’ for the first time and a collaboration with his talented producer and DJ friend @anyoneID on ‘’Kildem’’.

The EP starts with ‘’Voltage’’. The title refers to the Volt Mix, a rhythm inspired by Miami bass used since the late 80’s in Brazilian funk. BJF builds a dark mood with sirens and echoed shoutings around a solid drum pattern. A chopped vocal sample comes like a warning to light up the atmosphere.
‘’Break Bad’’ is the 2nd track of the EP. This track showcases BJF’s
signature: around 130 bpm, funky rhythm with heavy drums, chopped vocals, and minimalist sirens. The recipe still works well - a sure value. 
‘’Kildem’’ is the 1st (not the last?) collaboration between BJF and Parisian producer & DJ anyoneID, who released his last EP ‘’Cross Rhythm’’ via Couvre x Chefs. The track blends fast-paced dembow with nervous cowbells, repetitive whoopings, and anyoneID’s signature trancy leads.

Bio
French DJ and producer BJF is a key member of the Couvre x Chefs musical curation collective. His productions and DJ sets blur the lines between grime, dancehall, baile funk, dembow, UK Funky and other percussive styles. His productions and remixes are played worldwide in clubs, festivals and on platforms like Boiler Room, BBC Radio 1, NTS Radio, Rinse and others. He’s released music on labels such as Couvre x Chefs, NAAFI, Egregore, XXIII, Love In The Endz and Nehza Records. As a DJ he has performed in iconic venues across Europe (Razzmatazz, La Machine du Moulin Rouge...) sharing the stage with the likes of King Doudou, Greg, Sylvere, Bianca Oblivion, DJ Babatr...
