Northern winters are full of delicate beauty. There is an almost spiritual quality to the sun rising over a winter sea, hearing the waves gently roll over a rocky beach, or the rare opportunity to witness the spectacle of Northern Lights. Even winter storms are filled with their own special beauty. People often ask how I could tolerate the cold, harsh conditions. Easily. You will never experience the freedom of solitude as you will by a northern seaside in winter.
