Sometimes I'm asked to describe my sound in a few words. Trying to describe my sound is a task I don't enjoy doing and actually something, as a DJ, I hope I'm never able to do. If I *can* describe my sound, I take that as a sign that I've constrained myself or gotten too comfortable with what I'm doing. The moment I realize I'm artistically comfortable is the moment I start to get artistically uncomfortable. As of late, I've been starting to get a little too comfortable, so this mix is a response to that.

This mix doesn't come completely out of left field - for the most part, I hold on to a sound I'm known for: melodic, deep. But I take a step out of the comfort zone for a chunk of the mix and explore "underwater," touching on the stripped, trippy, percussive side of house music. I even stepped out of my technical comfort zone for some time layering 3, and at one point, 4 tracks at the same time.

As a whole, this mix transports itself in 3 likenesses: chugging on land, swimming underwater, and flying in the sky. A swan is one of the few animals that can do the same, so I present you, A Swan's Song. Hope you enjoy.

“Velvet Static” is a seamless blend of deep house warmth, tech house precision, and classic house energy, shaped into a modern club-driven sound. The album moves between silky, atmospheric grooves and sharper rhythmic pulses, creating a rich contrast that feels both intimate and electrifying.

Smooth, hypnotic basslines anchor each track, while textured synth layers add depth and motion—true to the “velvet” in its name. The “static” comes through in subtle percussive details, crisp hi-hats, and glitch-inspired elements that give the music a restless, kinetic edge.

Vocal cuts drift in and out like echoes, adding soul, attitude, and emotional tension without overwhelming the production. Some tracks feature airy, melodic toplines, while others use chopped or filtered vocal fragments to enhance the rhythmic flow.

Built for late-night dancefloors yet crafted with a refined, atmospheric touch, “Velvet Static” captures the duality of softness and electricity. It’s an album designed to move the body, elevate the mood, and wrap the listener in a deep, club-ready soundscape.

To be honest, we've been waiting to put this set out ever since we first conceptualized the idea of D Laz playing DH. Damian has been one of our favorite DJs and a constant inspiration for us over the years. He’s the only person we’ve given a 4 hour set to and he turned it into something that went down in history alongside the best sets we’ve ever seen at the fest.

BRITTON

DJ, producer, and audio engineer Britton is a West Coast tour de force known for his dark minimal driving style of techno. Inspired by SoCal’s underground collectives and full moon gatherings, Britton has developed his own ominous and sinister sound that compliments warehouse and outdoor environments alike. With regular releases on Noise Revolt and Minimal Sessions, Hood Politics, Water Bear and Kitu, Britton has been able to showcase his music in multiple cities throughout the U.S., Germany and the Netherlands. In 2017 his EP Asylum reached #2 on Beatport’s top Techno releases.

Öona Dahl is an amazing DJ, a supremely talented producer, a wonderful person, and our dear friend. Over the last couple of years, she has taken the world of dance music by storm. Not only by becoming a staple of Lee Burridge's All Day I Dream brand, but in her own right as well. Recently she's put out music on Watergate Records and Anjuna Deep in addition to touring all over Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world.

Öona proves beyond a reasonable doubt that the music scene rewards talented artists who work hard. We are so thrilled to have a recording of her set from her most recent Clinic date in April. This was our first sold-out night at our new home of The Sayer's Club, and we hope you enjoy the set almost as much as we did.
