This is part one of an incredible Jimpster 5.5 hour closing set at Tropical Hearts Spring Festival, a collaboration between LA-based Tropical and SD-based Desert Hearts that took place under shaded oak trees in the beautiful La Jolla Indian Reservation Campground.

This party had a rocking dance floor literally from start to finish, and the finish was about 40 minutes overtime when the generator mysteriously stopped working and told us it was time to pack it in.  

Many thanks to Jamie Odell (Jimpster) who played hours over his scheduled time to keep a great party going on a Sunday afternoon we will always remember!

This summer has been evidence of that with an endless number of gigs at festivals across the country and many more events coming up. This set was recorded at 6am sunrise, Monday morning at our Desert Hearts 1 Year Anniversary festival.  The Desert Hearts Crew and myself had been up and running the party for 4 days straight at this point and it was time to close down the best weekend and best party of our lives.  

Over the past year we had built Desert Hearts from a small 200 person gathering into one of the premier 1500 person parties in the world.  Not exaggerating, I would honestly put our Desert Hearts 1 Year Anniversary gathering up against any party in the world.  Everything was so surreal in this moment... it was a culmination of everything I had worked towards in my life and this was my victory lap.  This set starts with me mixing out of Marbs' last track in the beginning and also has a little b2b action with the homie Evan Casey in the last 30 minutes.

Without further ado, this is my version of Desert Hearts Sunrise...  Mentally and physically drained, more proud than I've ever been in my life, surrounded by my closest friends and family, and coming down from one of the most intense acid trips of my life.  I hope you enjoy. <3

Toronto-based LeeLee Mishi is known for her smooth sets of deep, jazz-infused tech house. Along with Zuzana Grimm and Faetal, she created and hosted the Cyclelogic monthly and was a resident at the long running underground weekly, Archi-textures. 

She has played alongside international talent such as Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Daniel Bell, John Acquaviva, Robag Wruhme, and Robert Babicz at late night venues and various outdoor events such as Promise Cherry Beach, Harvest Festival, Om Summer Solstice Festival and Burning Man. 

LeeLee is a founding member of the Suma collective whose signature Om Festival drew global fans from 1998 to 2004.

Lee Reynolds has always been someone who’s absolutely defied logic to us. Almost 20 years our senior to the rest of the Desert Hearts Crew, we’ve never met anyone with such an unbelievable passion and thirst for life. It's really fucking inspiring. Originally from England, Lee first moved to San Diego in 1988 to pursue a career in Professional BMX. If you go back and look at the original Haro Bike team, you’ll see Reynolds on the same team as the sport’s most legendary riders. After a plague of injuries set him back, Lee moved from a set of bicycle wheels to the Wheels of Steel. And thank god he did. I think when someone throws themselves into the air as many times as Lee, they start to develop a permanent high that lasts them the rest of their lives. That’s the only explanation we can come up with for his unbelievably infectious positivity. Simply put, Reynolds is a party god. He is one of the funniest, most lovable, and most incredible dudes we’ve ever met, and he also happens to be my all-time favorite DJ and best friend.
