My live set from DISTRIKT camp at Burning Man. This was one of the most monumental sets of my life playing in front of 3000 people in the middle of a dust storm. This was one of those days that set the bar for the rest of my DJ career.

For my latest mix, I really wanted to go in a different direction from what you'd usually hear from me. With Valentine's Day and City Hearts LA coming up this Saturday, I wanted to dedicate a mix entirely to what I think is the most important thing in the world, Love. There's a reason Love is the main theme that drives our festivals and Desert Hearts​ Records. Our community has been able to open the hearts and minds of so many incredible people and our goal is to ultimately share that message of love with the rest of the world.  <3

So this mix is dedicated to all of you lovers out there. Whether you're single or in a relationship, if you have love to give I believe the universe will return that love to you. Some of these songs are new and some are old, but they've all had a profound impact on my life over the years and I wanted to put something together that really makes you feel. We'd been waiting for this one since NYE when an impromptu tag set happened between these two and we knew it was fate at it's finest hour.  We got the boys together and the result was incredible, a 4 hour B2B set with The Scumfrog also providing some live drums to compliment the set had Mighty in a frenzy of dance.  We are certainly looking forward to doing this again!

'Into The Jungle' is the first collaboration between Desert Hearts Records boss, Mikey Lion, alongside Sol Selectas Records honcho, Sabo. Both known for regularly droppin' tribalistic drum grooves, Mikey & Sabo bonded over a common love of music and a less common love of skateboarding. They both knew it was only a matter of time before they got in the studio together to make some magic. The title track 'Into The Jungle' is a deep, forward thinking tune that takes the listener on a ride through the mystical depths of the jungle. You can almost feel the energy of the jungle breathing down your neck as you make your way through the song's rises and falls. 'Lonely Boy's Mighty Jungle Mix' takes it up another notch as the same mystic synths from the original track build for nearly 4 minutes before exploding into a massive high energy drop. The result is a 9 minute epic that is sure to rock any peak time dance floor. The next track on the EP titled 'Sally', is a much darker, stomper of a tune you wouldn't normally expect from Mikey & Sabo. Laced with big kicks, heavy synths, and cryptic vocals to boot, 'Sally' was made for peak time in a dark warehouse. Finally, to round off the EP, 'Sally' gets remixed by badass Joyce Muniz who brings a cranking tech house vibe to the track. The bassline chugs along to constantly changing high hats until the acid synth at the end brings the whole thing home. In typical Desert Hearts fashion, this entire EP was made to crush dance floors.

A Taste Of Desert Hearts

From the bottom of our Desert Hearts we want to say THANK YOU for all that we witnessed at our Spring Festival last weekend. Those were some of the most unbelievable loved filled moments of our lives and we’ll cherish these memories forever. Every party just gets better and better and we owe it all to you, our Desert Hearts Family, for opening your hearts and souls and getting behind this movement of love. Love is what the world needs right now and we’re spreading it through a tangible vibe that is literally being shouted from the mountain tops. Recorded live at our Desert Hearts Spring Festival 2016, this 4 hour back 2 back set from Your Desert Hearts Crew: Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs, Deep Jesus, & Porkchop was our victory lap from the best weekend of our lives. After months and months of meetings and preparation leading up to the festival, we barely got to see each other when we were onsite. This 4 hour set was the first time the 5 of us got to truly appreciate and celebrate together at our Spring Festival. Playing in front of our most die hard Desert Hearts Family on Monday afternoon, the vibes were pretty much as thick as they could possibly get. Thank you for making our dreams come true and spreading the love!
