Berlin based duo Mat.Joe are welcomed back to Nic Fanciulli's Saved Records this August, this time teaming up one of the founders of Electronic music in Ecuador, Ordonez, for their brand-new single, 'Tra Tra Tra'. From their roots as Hip-Hop producers, Mat.Joe have moved into producing and playing crispy House beats paired with rhythmic Soul and Hip-Hop elements, resulting in a deep, dancefloor-approved sound. Ecuadorian musician, sound engineer and producer Andre Salmon collaborates with Teddy Wong, Jorge Andrade, Le Roi Carmona and Michael Joseph for their first collective release on Hot Creations. The three-track EP is a rumbling journey through club-ready tech house, shaped by glistening beats, thick basslines and groovy melodies.

The creative process was lengthy, but eventually, the group got there in the end. “The inspiration and idea behind this EP came from movies and old vibes,” says Andre. “It all started with a call from my friend Teddy Wong, who developed some grooves and sent them to me. I started working on it with Jorge Andrade for the third song on the B-side, and I came across Le Roi Carmona. He sent me a loop, and then I passed that to Michael Joseph, who started working immediately on the idea. Then he sent it back to me for the level-up.” The title track simmers with a chunky bassline and a giggly vocal sample, in tandem with Spanish lyrics and a catchy melody. Co-produced with Teddy Wong, The Wonx follows suit with a more laidback mood and a twinkling synthline. Snappy percussion and glitchy vocals add a clubby feel. On the flip, Andre joins forces with Le Roi Carmona and Michael Joseph on La Piel De Salmon. A weird and wonky melody ensues, aligned with Hot Creations’ signature take on house music. Ethereal Spanish vocals build tension in the breakdown before erupting into a colossal, bass-heavy groove.

Ecuadorian musician, sound engineer and producer Andre Salmon has fifteen years of experience making music and producing sounds across the dance music spectrum. Drawing influence from punk rock, hip hop, and ambient, he’s released on labels like Drumcode, Suara, Area10/Ultra, Hottrax, Leftroom and many more. Mexican artist Teddy Wong heads up the label Barrio Chinesca Music Club, supporting sonic material by artists based in Baja, California and Mexico. Brobot Records, We Jack., Sagmen, Name Dropper, and many more imprints have platformed his house-led sounds. Ecuadorian muli-tasker Jorge Andrade does it all — DJing, producing, sound designing, writing and consulting. The CEO of MD-Studio blends a myriad of genres, from jazz to Chicago house, and has released on Rave Cave Records and ARRITMIA, amongst others. Le Roi Carmona is Costarrican DJ and producer. He’s released straight-up tunes on labels Codigo56 Records, Complex Textures and many more besides.

Ali Love debuts on Hot Creations as he partners with Prince Andre for the vibrant ‘Da Da On’. 

An artist with a rich history within modern house music and longstanding ties to Hot Creations, Ali Love makes his  solo debut on the label with collaborator and Brazilian rapper Prince Andre. Ali takes on production duties here,  and the result is a pretty unique slice of Brazilian hip house. ‘Da Da On’ brings a driving bassline, samba inspired  percussion, whistles, and Prince Andre’s effervescent rhymes. This is an explosion of energy built for Carnaval. The  dub highlights the track’s rolling drums and Carnaval atmosphere. Remixes are to follow.

One of the premier songwriters of contemporary UK dance music, Ali Love has released material via Crosstown  Rebels, Keinemusik, and Defected in recent times, and collaborated with The Chemical Brothers, Justice,  Camelphat and Róisín Murphy, amongst many others. It was, of course, on Hot Creations, where Ali collaborated  with Jamie Jones, Lee Foss and Luca C as Hot Natured, and whose ‘Benediction’ has now become a  contemporary dance music classic. This is Ali Love’s long-awaited return to the imprint. 

Ali Love comments: “This is the first solo record I’ve released without my lead vocals, so I think it shows that I’m  more than just a vocalist. I was a session musician way before I even started singing, and I’ve always produced my  own solo music. It’s also the first record I’ve released on Hot Creations since ‘Benediction’, and it was wicked to  A&R the tune with Jamie at the end. His feedback resulted in the tunes massive samba drum breakdown (JJ  beatboxed the samba drum idea down the phone!) then me and my co- producer Freek re-created it using his voice  mail as the guide. It started off as a laugh but in the end it really took the track to the next level. 

The whole track is a family affair. My girlfriend Naomi is Brazilian, and we took our baby girl (Juno Love) to Brazil  for the first time to meet the family. The vocalist is actually my girlfriend’s youngest brother (one of 6 boys). He’s an  amazing rapper from Bahia. We recorded in Florianópolis and then in Bahia at the actor Fabricio Boliveira's pad  (another family member), with all the cousins doing background vox. A lot of fun, and it came together so quickly.  You can feel the heat in the music. It was also the perfect way to meet all the family and mark the occasion with  something tangible.”

Sorley lands on Desert Hearts Records with an energetic 3-tracker. Known for his addictive grooves and creative sound scapes, Sorley sets off the label year just how we like it. “Stuck with You” gives us an incredibly catchy vibe packed with fierce synth stabs, wild drums and a beautiful vocal. “Rip It” has a slightly darker vibe to it with an acid-inspired bassline following the tracks development as we are introduced to gnarly synth elements and tight percussions. Last but not least, “If You Only Knew” takes the stage and delivers a fat and juicy groove. The bassline gives the track proper bounce while the enchanting vocals lead uns into the ecstatic drop. These three tracks are the perfect peak time techies for everyone who loves to give the dance floor some extra spice.
