‘Fragrance Regenerated’ offers eight distinct remixes of the mesmerizing track produced by Liquid Bloom and Bloomurian. Joining forces on this release are producers Akriza, Cyma, Geometrae, Numatik, Nyrus, SWAYLÓ, Tylepathy, and Wolf Tech, wrapping the traditional vocals and sounds into downtempo bass, organic house, psy dub, and deep ambient soundscapes. 

This collaborative release is a diverse journey uniting the shamanic cultures from both sides of the planet, South America and Siberia. Proceeds from this song will be donated to the non profit ‘Futuro Nativo’ to assist with their building projects in the Shipibo village of San Fransisco, Peru.

Utterly Intertwined

In the vast, deep forests of history, long have the inhabitants of Earth
sought connection with nature and other forms of life on this planet.
Though humanity’s chapter within this greater story has been short,
their innate ability to form this link through increasingly inventive
means has lead to the development of exotic tools, complex
languages, and a colorful web of cultures that in just a few millennia
has come to span the entire surface of the globe.

Within this elaborate web, there are artists like Jakare: an electro-
folkloric duo that wields the emotional language of music as a tool for
exploring the endless frontiers of the human experience. Their
upcoming release — ‘Apu Remixes‘ — continues in their musical
tradition of blending Old- and New-world instrumentation with modern
production techniques by inviting five musical visionaries from the
electronic world to partake in the celebrated ritual of remixing,
beginning with deep tribal producer and Resueño label head
Mose.

Leading off the collection with a stirring rendition of Jakare’s
ceremonial “Cleansing,” Mose’s remix quickly draws listeners into a
landscape colored by downtempo atmospheres and fueled by a
holographic collection of synths, beats, samples, and cleverly-woven
instrumental sequences. Rooted in both acoustic and electronic
components to provide a rising and falling emotional tale, the track
plays true to Mose’s intention of crafting musical journeys and teases
the essence of the greater collection by showcasing the versatility of
“organic house” and its numerous global influences.

Tapping into the vital root of global electronic music as it dances to the steady beat of technology and moves to the rhythms of a much older, ancestral current, Italian producers Lo.Renzo and Halfred have spent the last two years working together under the banner of electro-folkloric duo Jakare to explore humankind’s essential drive to connect and merge with the surrounding world. 

Their first release off 2021— ‘Apu Remixes‘ — continues in their signature style of blending Old- and New-world instrumentation with modern production techniques by inviting five musical visionaries from the electronic world to partake in the celebrated ritual of remixing their debut 2019 EP, ‘Apu.‘

Deep tribal producer and Resueño label head Mose leads off the collection with a stirring rendition of Jakare’s ceremonial “Cleansing,” drawing listeners into a landscape colored by downtempo atmospheres and fueled by a holographic collection of synths, beats, samples, and cleverly-woven instrumental sequences. Known for his own fusion of worldly and electronic influences, Beatfarmer’s “Globall” remix provides an upbeat and groovy entry to the EP while Ancestral Elephants seizes on the same track for an organic side quest that speaks to the versatility of Jakare’s original instrumental compositions. Gibson — known by many for his tech bass production work as part of Birds of Paradise — offers a fiery electronic mid-tempo revision of “Glass Temple,” and closing the EP on a genre-bending mixture of organic DnB and slow house, Columbian producer Marcelo Berges shines light on the intersection between folk and global electronica in his “Moon Howl” remix.

At once ephemeral and steady; passionate and tranquilizing; soulful and uplifting, Jakare’s ‘Apu Remixes‘ is a potent glimpse into one of the endless ways our species connects with the surrounding world. Though music is intrinsically fleeting, the experiences and connections it can create are unbound by time and space, offering listeners and creators alike the power to see the world through another’s eye’s and gaze into the endlessly unfolding tale of life on the spinning globe we all call home.

Desert Trax is thrilled to bring fans a star-studded remix pack for ”Saraswati's Twerkaba,” the smash lead track from Desert Dwellers' Clear Path compilation, which was originally released in 2016 by Sofa Beats. The exotically innovative original from Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe sees the Desert Dwellers blending their signature downtemple dub sounds with global club flavors. It was inspiration enough to draw in a wide range of remixers amped to take on the task.

French guitarist and glitch sensation CloZee joined forces with LuSiD for an earthy, percussive take. Southern California bass legend David Starfire leaned more into the clubby side of the yoga twerk track. Mindex and Landswitcher both went dark and dangerous on their respective remixes, pulling heavily from the subsonic sampling and fearlessly pushing the track into the cavernous abyss. Patiently building from mild murmur to full on twisted roar, Nanosphere stretches Saraswati into a psy opus. Israeli sensation TRIBONE stripped the cut down all the way to its primal, midtempo stomp, and there is no doubt his take will turn dance floors loose with its relentless pulse.

These 11 tracks were born from a prayer to bridge worlds from the consciousness of the master plant medicine onto the dance floor. Using original recordings from the mountains of Nepal, the deserts of India and the jungles of Australia and Central America, Nango Manchay has learned and incorporated instruments from all corners of the earth to create an album the spans borders and traditional genres.

The result is the expansive album Under Our Sun which comes to Desert Trax on April 5th. From the opening hit of Varanasi Flame to the closing notes of Diambura, the Nango Manchay sound envelops and hypnotizes. The guitarist and sitar player also features on the seminal album Grouch in Dub and his lush string sound finds a home on Desert Dwellers label. The entire album is filled with gorgeous melody at each stop along the cosmic journey. Rich, pulsing midtempo breaks and more intricate downtempo and bass-centric musings are held together by the connective thread of real bowed, plucked and strummed strings.

“Under Our Sun is a tribute to the unification of humanity and the common goals of peace and understanding that is an underlying part of what makes us all human,” he notes “We are all under the same sun, we share this planet together and this album represents many cultures uniting to create music of beauty that reflects the awe and grandeur of nature, our shared home and the depths of our own consciousness.”

Late last year, Key-G returned to Desert Trax with his 'Curled Up Dimensions'. This summer, Desert Dwellers' label assembles some of the best rising stars and established veterans in the psybreaks and psydub realms for a jam-packed remix collection.

Standouts from this new remix EP include a sprawling 11-minute journey from UK legend Globular on Unleashing the Forces Instead of slowing things down like they did for their new duo project, Jakare, Halfred and Lo.Renzo return to their midtempo psy roots with remixes of Quantum Strikes and Ascension Upgrade, respectively. Newcomer Johny Pablo impresses with the Pinpricks of Light remix, and Key-G takes on his own Third Eye Girl to close out the set.

A project unlike any other comes to Desert Trax this fall. Between 2009 and 2012, psychedelic bass producer Twin Shape created but left unfinished three songs that tied him inextricably to a certain time and place. As the years went on, these pieces remained rough and untouched, until he sought the help of three fellow producers to help him complete these songs.
The result is the 'Auxiliatus' EP. From the Latin to support, Alterra, Shwamp , and COAM stepped in to give Twin Shape distance, perspective, and help to revisit these original creations and give them a contemporary feel on Seeded, D&N and Glimpse, respectively. Three tightly wound compositions that have spanned nearly a decade since their inception now come to life with throbbing low end and alien implications. A strong recommendation for fans of Bird of Prey, Phutureprimitive, and Ott.

Standout Desert Trax contributor Key-G steps in for a remix of the Alterra collab, Seeded, to round out this 4-track set. The Auxiliatus EP is finally available September 13th.

Twin Shape & Shwamp - D&N

Stepping into the kaleidoscopic realm of mid-tempo psychedelia, Israeli electronic producer Soru merges technical psytrance influences and groove-centric Western flavors in his debut EP, ‘Cracks.’

Laced with musical elements drawn across time and tempo, this high-spirited collection tickles the mind with its exhilarating blend of low-end rhythms and classic psychedelic progressions while exploring the more luminous sides of experimental bass music. Through colorful glitches, uplifting samples, and sensuous melodies, ‘Cracks’ is a journeyer’s dream bound for the shapeshifting landscapes of the global underground. 

Soru is the brainchild of Yair (Sol) Solomon. Jerusalem raised, Tel Aviv based, veteran of the global Psy Trance movement and first label DJ (aka Nomolos) for the Australian Zenon Records. Drawing inspiration from Rock 'n roll, 90s hip hop and underground electronic sounds as well as urban jungles, the great outdoors and altered states, the Soru experience encourages listeners to "Lay down all thoughts and surrender to the void. “Produced by the amazing Maor Hasbani @ GUMI studios, Soru brings a mind warping psychedelica ‘get down’ to a sound system near you!”

A realm of wild darkness and tranquilizing light, Liquid Bloom and TRIBONE’s ‘Interbeing’ explores the inextricably-bound forces of the musical universe through six mystifying tracks drawn from the lands of worldly downtempo, tribal bass, and driving psychedelic electronica.

Inspired by the fast-paced soundscapes of the global dance floor, the original ‘Interbeing’ mix unleashes a barrage of mid-tempo beats overlaid with primal energy and supported by a haunting psychedelic undercurrent that resounds through each track in the EP collection. 

Without slowing down, Liquid Bloom and TRIBONE bring additional space to Interbeing’s dark atmospheres with their hypnotic and tactile “Deep Tech Mix,” while producer-duo 'Jakare' provides a tantalizing tribal house remix flavored with additions of charango and pan flute.

Maintaining the psychedelic edge of the original composition, British psybass producer 'Sigil' draws listeners into a twisted breakbeat journey that plunges deeper into the original’s shadowy tones. 

Taking a more luminous path, 'Kaya Project' guides his rendition toward uplifting territory with his signature world-fusion style, introducing stirring organic beats, seraphic vocal samples, and a soothing blend of synths and instrumentation to draw out Interbeing’s brighter elements.
