Dancing with Devils - tells a story about self-absorption and illusion. In this tale, the main characters find themselves on journey into the desert. As their choices lead astray, they find themselves dancing with devils into the desert. The distinctions between fantasy and reality are nearly indistinguishable. Desert Shine is a creative collaboration between Denver born brothers Justin (1985 - Sugar Free A.K.A The Humming Bird A.K.A. Diamond Cluster Hustler) and Abram (1988 - Abe the Babe). The bothers have been working on music together since they were kids. Their love for music was sparked and influenced by their parents. Their dad would play Spanish music on Sundays and during long road trips their parents would listen to  50s rock, 60s soul, and 70s Funk/Disco music.
 
At the age of nine Abram was introduced to a mini CASIO keyboard and his love for music blossomed. He was addicted to singing and making sounds on his keyboard. Abram bought his first guitar at the age of eleven and immediately began composing songs of his own. A lover and a traveler, Abram creates music that tells a vibrant story ripe with emotion and rich in experience. 

Traditionally trained as a fine artist, Justin seamlessly incorporates his visuals and unique perspectives into the narratives of his music and his performances/videos. Justin's creative ability was recognized early on by his family. He was constantly performing in comedy improv groups, painting/drawing, writing stories, and making his own movies. These early practices became healthy habits that developed into a diverse set of creative tools that would contribute to his success later in life. In 2008 Justin received his BFA from Metro State University of Denver with an emphasis in printmaking and a minor in art history. From 2008-2011 Justin attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison on fellowship where he received his MA and MFA with an emphasis in studio art and visual culture.
