Crush was inspired by a person I went on one date with, who became erratic and obsessive when I politely declined seeing them again. It started with texts – flurries of them, for weeks on end – that began with confusion and ended angrily when I stopped responding to them. Since that experience, I’ve read things like ‘I love Dick’ by Chris Krauss and revisited moments when I had been the one receiving, what I felt was, ‘out of the blue’ rejection. Feelings are weird, illogical, and overwhelming and I’ve had times where I’ve spiralled into obsessive thinking. Some of the lyrics are things I’ve felt on my own, others are near direct quotes from texts I was sent.

SIN is about trying to find love on the internet, which is a whole other  conversation that is too exhausting to rehash. Let’s have a drink and talk about it, or just listen to the song. Your choice.

The songs were recorded, mixed and mastered at home by me. The cover photograph is my own, and the layout is by Haute Monde Studio which does quite good work if you are in the market for that sort of thing.
