‘Preludes’ blends minimal downtempo with moody electronica and 90’s inspired house, all the while putting the vocals in the foreground. Norton delivers his vocals with a breathy confidence that sits right against the listener’s ears beckoning them to let down their guard and just listen.

In the lead single and title track of the album, somber pianos underscore Norton’s hushed vocals as skittering percussion melds with pitched voices and sampled guitar riffs. 


“‘Preludes’ tries to capture the daily sense of inauthenticity and general lack of self confidence we can all feel,” Norton explains. “The idea that your life and actions are just an introduction to something bigger/more important/the main event, and that you are just the filler while people get in their seats.”

Many fishermen had lost their minds at sea, they had careered towards the rock, their ships smashing coarsely against the land. They had been enchanted by the song of the sirens who lived beneath the waves. Their song would echo through the night and entice them back towards the bay. All that would follow was coastal decay, time and time again.
