DJ/Producer and Artcore Records boss @indirapaganotto makes her first EP debut on Berlin’s Second State with “Red Ninja” EP - a dark & hard-hitting techno voyage accompanied by a driving remix from Barcelona based, Tel Aviv born producer @shlomiaber. 

Title track “Red Ninja” opens the record and sets the tone with a rabid kick, brooding synths & scattered textures that build to samples of distorted Mongolian throat singing and ravey hooks. The track is a seamless blend of styles that both compliment and juxtapose each other to create an unorthodox high energy dance floor weapon. Following is “Magnetic Pulse”, which quite literally embodies its title with a reverberating bass, vocal chops and heaving kick drum. More subtle than its predecessor but with no shortage of impact, the track employs twinkling synth keys that create a hectic, skittish mood. Furiously paced snare drums and hi hats appear, adding texture and balance, after a breakdown provides a fleeting moment of tranquility. 

Stepping up for remix duties is Shlomi Aber with his take on “Red Ninja”. Intensifying the percussion and optimising a hypnotic synth line, his rendition is more of a techno roller than the original cut. Aber uses his skills to transform this mesmeric track into a no frills heavyweight banger, while still retaining some of the more curious elements. “Katana” is next and deepens the sonic trip with clips of Japanese conversation. Not hidden away behind distortion or effects, the samples dance in tandem with the booming kick drum while an intoxicating combination of bells sing out the melody. Closing out is “Cyber Slaves”, a driving yet simplistic composition. Paganotto employs a revolving melodic loop and percussive elements that shine through with a galactic energy to concoct this mesmerizing finisher.

The second on the release is 'Get Down' - a massive funky tune that's destined to burn floors to the ground giving you flashbacks to the golden 90’s techno era , an 'instant classic' material in our eyes!

The third track on this already amazing EP is 'NFT', the definition of a train on valium - deep, punchy, yet clean with a building energy, a showcase of multifaceted production skills of Krzysiek Teper, an emerging talent to be aware of!

And last but not least is 'Bring Back', the track that skilfully blends traditional techno elements with modern production techniques, resulting in a sound that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking. Rolling drums along with the sweetness of acid line translate it into a musical language that everybody will understand.

Securing his place in the scene as a mainstay after consecutively acclaimed releases on his own record label and beyond as well as lengthy touring around the globe’s best venues, Altinbas returns to @tokenrecords the only way he knows how. The Fuse resident’s ethereal mark on driven techno comes this time with an aquatic touch, diving further into his bubbly architecture and melodic intrigue.

‘Voyage’ can mean many things; the past few years have been an incessant trip across the world's greatest sound systems and most dedicated audiences for the Belgian producer, or then perhaps it’s a reference to the climactic and emotional nature of his productions. In any case, it’s also the title track for his third EP on Token Records. Balancing warmth and anticipation, Altinbas is able pack in all the elements of a timeless record while still providing the space to breathe. Smooth and introspective, ‘Voyage’ kicks off the EP on a cloud of a club roller. ‘Stygious Night’ shares the first side with a more minimal but nonetheless effective approach. The tonal synth work on this record begs for a powerfully round system worthy of only the best dancefloors, and the space that washes around in the background gives it true dimension. Maintaining minimalism with structure through drum arrangement, ‘Stygious Night’ is reminiscent of a not so distant past in Berlin crafted with a clearly modern approach. As the record flips, ‘Venus Ballroom’ takes us by surprise with an uncommonly resonant sound at the forefront. This stylistic switch blends perfectly with historic tracks on the label that have come to define its sound since 2007. Hypnotic, psychotic, quirky, and mental - ‘Venus Ballroom’ proves a deep understanding of the music and appreciation of versatility. ‘Psychosphere’ closes down the EP with a classic sound of dissonant stabs to resonate through a foggy room. Altinbas highlights his sound with frantic clap sequences and short rides to keep his percussion rolling but dry while his synths create the acoustic he’s been known to craft for the past few years. To have everyone agree on level of taste and technical capability is tough, which is why this certainly won’t be the last time Altinbas will team up with Token to roll out his cutting-edge work.

Talk about establishing a brand identity outside of the ‘status quo', or redefining what it means to be a true artist, which is exactly what we can expect from DESNA as she carves out her place in the music industry, making sure to avoid definitive classification by charting a new course that's sure to shake things up.

Noted as one of DJ Mag's emerging acts to watch at the end of 2019, DESNA art transcends music; it embodies a way of living, which in turn makes her force to be reckoned with as she channels this passion into everything she does. With a slew of releases behind her, she notched over a million streams in 2020 and landed in Beatport’s top 20 chart. DESNA uses deep, uncompromising techno as her base, with her productions drawing inspiration from a vast range across the electronic spectrum.

During the global pandemic, DESNA started trying to find a way to add more value to the music she was making by adding specific frequencies. Inspired by her late Step Fathers passing in 2021, who lost his battle with cancer. Just before he passed, a western doctor administering his chemo said he may want to try listening to certain frequencies as they are realizing certain tones may help with nerve pain and his emotional well being. This was her inspiration for putting high vibe frequencies in all of her original music moving forward. DESNA's theme is to create an uplifting and sound healing experience at her shows while staying true to underground music. This new path has birthed her own record label 'Frequency Made Music'.
