Sonic Syndicate are finally back after a period of silence. The successful band from Falkenberg, Sweden was unexpectedly dropped by the record label Nuclear Blast and was forced reconsider their situation. The crisis forced the band to change it’s course significantly and they took the chance to record their most daring album yet. This time the members of the band took a deeper look into themselves which has led to some changes of the sound. On the new album “Confessions” Sonic Syndicare lets the listener take part of their vulnerability through total uncompromising honesty in their songwriting and sound.

Aware that the bands “new start” may cause a lot of listeners to raise their eyebrows the band doesn’t fear the changes nor the future. The conviction that they’ve created a very strong album, the fact that they’re 100% happy with the music and the atmospere in and around the band has led to a revival worthy the envy of hungry debutants.

The new album “Confessions” will be released world wide October 14th via Despotz Records and followed up by a huge European tour together with Amaranthe and Smash Into Pieces called the Maximalsm European Tour where Sonic Syndicate will show the fans again what an exceptional live band they are, as they’ve already done in Europe, North America and Asia several times before during their career.

Thundermother are back with three new members and keeps on fighting for their music with the new single “We Fight For Rock N Roll”.

The guitarist and founder, Filippa Nässil, started Thundermother in 2009 and the band has launched two albums and played hundreds of shows since then. They’ve been on the road with artists such as Michael Monroe, W.A.S.P, D-A-D and Danko Jones and had a sold out headline tour in Europe last year.

The former line-up with Clare Cunningham, Tilda Stenqvist, Giorgia Carteri and Linda Ström was formed in 2013 and when the four members decided to leave Thundermother in the spring 2017 Filippa was determined to keep on playing with singer Guernica Mancini, bass player Sara Pettersson and drummer Emlee Johansson.

Amanda Mair is a Stockholm native who gained attention as a teenager with her debut single, “House” in 2011. The Washington Post praised her grown up Kate Bush sounds, while Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet described her album as one of the best Swedish debut albums of all time. Amanda has evolved since her debut – both as an artist and as a songwriter, but also as a person. She spent time focusing on herself and growing up. Her maturity shines through her best work yet on Despotz Records. 

“Rush” is a dark and contemplative song about longing to feel the rush of a physical and emotional connection. An eternity has passed since the relationship crumbled. One familiar touch can bring those feelings rushing back. Introduced as a piano ballad, the song turns cold with chilling Trentemøller synths.   

“Wednesday” is a beautiful and atmospheric swan song. The cinematic quality of the song reveals aching emotions as one might imagine a vast landscape devastated by war, or the inevitability of love. This song hits you right in the feels. 

In Amanda’s words, “’Rush’ is about when passionate attraction and destructive addiction allows you to repeat the same hurtful mistake over and over again. While ’Rush’ paints a picture of the continual restless searcher, ’Wednesday’ allows you to take a step back and realize the tedious truth of one reality you’ve fallen in love with."

“Empty Blockings” is an apprehensive approach to love. The rolling beat echoes a pumping heart, afraid to open up to a damaged lover’s “demons getting louder.” There’s a promise of protection and security, but will it be strong enough to stabilize the relationship?

In Amanda’s words, “"Writing songs can really be like therapy for me. Writing Empty Blockings was therapy for me. I wrote it when I realized that something you’ve loved and been attached to can have a negative impact on you. And that all the negative energy can touch you, before you even feel the pain of it. "

Skarlett Riot - Affliction

Following on from the release of his highly-praised singles ‘Umsindo’ ft. Kanyi Mavi & Le Roi Alekpehanhou, and ‘Myrarn’ ft. Noomi last year, Swedish DJ and producer Ludvig Parment aka Saturday, Monday has now returned with his latest atmospheric ballad ‘FWD’, featuring vocals from Björn Dixgård.

Much like his work to date, ‘FWD’ sees the artist take broad strokes from the electronic music world, and blend them with a bold and diverse array of instrumentation. Mixing a warm and inviting atmosphere with brooding basslines and beautiful vocals gives his returning an extremely vibrant aesthetic, showcasing more of his sweeping and euphoric direction throughout.

Speaking about the new offering, he said, “FWD (pronounced forward) is a collaboration with Björn Dixgård of Mando Diao. We met through our mutual friend screenwriter/director Peter Modestij, who has also contributed lyrics to the song. We come from very different musical backgrounds so it wasn’t obvious what direction the collaboration would take. But after sitting down at Björns house listening through a bunch of music, mainly super classic songs we kind of set out to do a contemporary ballad but not a stripped back piano song or some slick electronic piece but rather sort of a grand arrangement of a pretty song with a slight roughness to it. 
The song itself is fairly simple, it’s basically just those filtered accordion chords and some mellotron and recorder with some drums on it. But there are lots of layers and textures underneath, many of which I recorded with one of those small handheld recorders that I kept with me and recorded a bunch of ambience and everyday sounds for like a year making this record.”

Saturday, Monday is the solo project Swedish DJ and producer Ludvig Parment. His characteristic and effortlessly left-field sound, resulting from a passion for hardware synths and wabi-sabi. His music has already wooed the likes of Zane Lowe, Diplo and Robyn as well as being a subject for write-ups in The New York Times, The Guardian and Pitchfork. Previous collaborators include New Orleans rapper Pell, pop icon Hayley Kiyoko and Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angello.
